Just wondering what are some favorite DVD-A Tittles and best tracks that show off the 5.1. I hope to grab some this weekend, and really want one that shows the stereo off.

Try this https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=DVD-A A couple more threads are also linked with in that thread.
I recently bought a few DVD-A's. I don't know what your taste in music but I will recommend:
The Doobie Brothers-The Captain and Me Classic Rock
The Corrs-Into the Blue Irish rock
Fourplay-Fourplay Lite Jazz
REM-Greatest Hits Rock
All of these that I recommended have great sound qualities. I also have purchased some DVD-A's that were not mixed well and sound poor like George Benson Breezin.

Telarc's recording of Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops performing the 1812 Overture is astounding, especially when the cannons start firing--just be careful not to crank it up too loud as the cannons can blow out your speakers. This is a GREAT recording to show off your system. I have it on both DVD-A and SACD, so now I guess I need to get a universal player for my home stereo to compare them.
Brian Wilson's "Live at the Roxy Theater" is a very good one too.

Here are some poll results of currently available surround discs. Of course, any that are SACD will not play in HiRez or surround in the TL. However, there are a lot of DVD-A's on this list:

I bought Led Zeppelin 'How the West was won' two disc set recently and I must say I was disappointed with the 5.1 mixing. Awesome songs, of course, but I couldn't really see any difference between the DVD-A and regular CD listening. The DVD-A 5.1 mastering is definitely not up to the mark.
I bought the black album from Metallica, and it sounds great ! I also like REM, Staind and Everclear. Nickelbaack is good as well.
About Linkin Park, which one did you guys are listening ? I bought the one with the remixes. The sounds eeffect are great, but I find that the music sucks....

Sammy Hagar's live DVD-A "Hallalujah" is very good as well, if you are a fan of "Van Hagar" you will be pleased.

I bought the program "Discwelder Bronze" for 100$ and I own a computer with DVD burner. You must use DVD-R or DVD-RW.
I'm not doing any DVD-R with 5.1 or with DTS. I'm doing DVD with CD quality sound, stereo channel. The good thing about that is that you can put 99 CD quality songs on one blank DVD.
Good luck !
For the older crowd
I just received Frampton Comes Alive from Amazon. The disc sounds great, like you are in the middle of the crowd. There are a few tracks on the DVD-A that weren't on the original LP (I think they were on the 25th anniversary CD).
(Man, the under 25 crowd isn't going to understand the LP reference. Ask your parents).
