Replaced my navi drive back in sep 11. Had it rebuilt by alpine. Going on a trip and was waiting for it to boot and got a DVD read error before the ok button came up. Should I be worried its going to break again? I def want to use it for this trip lol also the voice is not crackly or anything. Think it was just a blip?

 

Pull the DVD out and look at the data side to see what condition it is in. It may be an issue with the DVD having scratches and not with the Navi system.

 

Did that and noticed some scratches. Nothing crazy but it is the original disc which is obviously old at this point. It worked fine for me trip to and fro which was over six hours total after I got this error. Will look into updated navi disc.
