Question DVD player with TV-Tuner. Your thoughts

Hi, guys!

I was searching online for a single din DVD player to install into the rear seat armrest. I came by BOSS BV3950T with TV-tuner
Looks like a good package including TV-Tuner, front inputs, S-video output, very nicely laid out remote control with remote eye, reads MP3 and other formats, etc.

You can download the manual here

The problem is that I cannot find any reviews online whatsoever on this or similar unit.
Has anybody installed BOSS or other brand dvd player with tv-tuner before?
Any feedback, reviews, thoughts?

Thanks!

Not Bad... But the only thing I saw was that it must be installed within 30 degrees of horizontal. If it could be mounted horizontal or vertical (Armrest up) I would order it now...

I dont know if BOSS is a high quality brand but for 100ish bux I might be able to deal with it. Buy has it for 113. 24 month Replacement Plan $29.99 12 month Replacement Plan $16.99

I'm thinking about it.... It also doesnt have the antenna for the TV tuner... Still thinking...

Where did you find installation specs? I think the horizontal mounting is for loading CDs. When loaded, media is usually pressed between the bearing and the motor.

How do the other DVD drives mounted in the armrest behave?
I guess nobody tried loading the CD/DVD when the armrest is in vertical position.

The antenna isn't an issue and can be easily purchased from Eb*y.

I hope there's somebody here who is using this or identical unit.

in the pdf... Page 4 (page 1 of the user doc)

"Do not install this unit at an angle in excess of 30 (degrees) from horizontal, as it may affect performance"
