Two months ago I purchased a Cobra 9530 radar detector, but my brother bought me a Cobra 9730 (slightly more expensive model) for Christmas. I was wondering how much more effective the 9730 is compared to the model that I currently have. With the little research that I have done, all I've come up with is that for the extra $50 you get a compass. Anyone have any experience with either unit? I'm looking to either return one or sell it on ebay so any and all knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

Honestly I've never seen Cobra as a very good detector. I'd take them both back and get a V1, Escort 8500/9500, or Bel Sti Driver.

 

OI have the cobra with a color screen and compass, got it as a birthday gift, and it will false alot, especially at automatic doors, and will be late in response. I can see the cop before it will go off. Go with the Escort X50, 9500I, or go with the Valentine V1.
