i bought in USA crashed car acura TL 2007 and yesterday it arrive to me ... and ... i have a little problem... the car is crashed right rear - this is my car http://img184.imageshack.us/my.php?image=565757dmq4.jpg

the problem is: LCD screen, radio - not work - in LCD only ilumination is work and the screen is completly black. Todey I was demount rear right side and DVD player for GPS is crashed .. i don't know yet what about with "elecrtonic and safety XM radio" computer ... at first look electrical instalation is not destroy.. so my question .. what happend with radio and LCD screen and where to buy DVD player for 2007 model i was check ebay but unsuccesfull.... part number is 39540-SEP-A510-M1

please help and agin sorry for my English

one more question... DVD drive is responsibility for work all of LCD screen and him funcions ?

my question is, why would you buy a crashed car? especially one that needs a lot of work in getting it back to running condition. good luck in fixing it.

why crash ... it's simple - crash car is 10000-15000$ cheaper . But the true is that i didn't know that LCD and radio is dead. I think that guilty is in DVD becouse the XM radio unit is ok not crash

is it really worth it to buy a crashed car for that much cheaper? i mean, i am assuming you are an excellent body repairman (I hope...) but, the condition that car is in doesn't look like it is worth it to fix IMHO...my

 

i've got some cars from USA - Lexus ES300 '03, Jeep Grand Cherokee '00, Pontiac Firebird '00, Scion xA '06, Lexus RX330 '04 and now next car - this Acura everyone was crashed and profesional repair using a lot of new parts i'm glad with everyone but please back to topic

A crashed car is never the same, but with that being said, it often comes back almost as good as before it was crashed.

My brother got a 2000 Maxima with 3,xxx miles on it for $15k (in 2000) after repairs. The same car at a dealer lot would have been around $25k.

I'm Ukrainian (been here since I was 2 though), but most of the people who come from my home country can't speak english and work any job they can. Most men get into the car business because cars are universal and as long as you can understand what needs to be done, you will be able to do the job. I'm ALWAYS around crashed cars (my best friend owns his own shop) and although I personally will never buy another crashed car (my current car was just used, my previous cars were bought crashed), I would not mind buying a recovered theft/stripped car from the auction (I have my own two car garage with air tools, 9000lb car lift, etc.) It would still be cheaper to fix than to buy the same year/mileage car at a used lot.

to the other members.. dont forget, in alot of other countries our cars are rare, and VERY over priced because they are not produced there...

My insurance guy (who i know personally) told me that chances are, my black car was auctioned off, somebody in another country bought it and another crashed or stolen TL, put the pieces together, and sold it for big, and i mean double MSRP value, to a person in a country where this car is not available..
