Cingular 8525...

I just got this phone and it paired up easily with HFL. However it does not show the battery or signal strength. I believe Jetwaremobile software may fix it . Anybody used it on their 8525 yet?

^ That's exactly where I got the site information from. If you notice they used it on the older model 8125...not on 8525. Jetware site does list Cingular 8525 as the supported model. I just wanted to be double sure.

Hey, be cool

You should be a little more appreciative of what datmrman is trying to tell you and the rest of the community about simply posting with out sear... wait a minute, You asking about a different phone, oh well datmrman is just being stupid I at least read the post before making such a crude remark.

Anyway, sorry about that RSA_Secure. I misread your original post and somehow did a search for the wrong phone. Again, my apologies.

I am about to buy this phone, have you had any problems with it pairing or not being able to transfer calls. Looking at the Acura hfl site this phone failed that. I want to be sure it is working before I get one.

The 8525 will upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6 in the fall of this year.. i'm hoping with the upgrade the 8525 is 100% compatible w/ HFL & the features

Currently the HFL site does not show battery/signal/acura link compatability with the 8125 and 8525, but they are both using Windows Mobile 5 at this time.

Actually.. this confuses the crap out of me now - HFL site says 8525 FAILED!?

I thought one of the features of the whole MID / Nav / HFL was the ability for the car to use the data connection & "talk to Acura" - I guess that's just an 07 feature? What a load of crap.

I got mine to pair just fine with the jetware software, and I show signal strength, battery, and can transfer between BT and handset.

The only wierd thing is when I answer a call, the HFL beeps when I pick up, so I hit the button and it beeps like normal, then it beeps again and my caller can hear the beep.....

my 8525 works like a charm. a little off topic, and i havent tried it yet - but htcamerica.net has the newest 8525 update on there... if you download that and install it on the phone, you might see results... im not sure though as i havent done it yet.

it's an upgrade to go to the AT&T software and get cingular video/music and enable the PTT button.

Not worth it IMO since it hard-resets the phone and you have to go back in and redo everything. I have my phone pretty well hacked, so it would take me a few hours to re-hack everything again.

just copy all the files in your active sink folder to a new folder, do the install, then after its reset, delete whats in the current activesink folder, and then move all your old files back, upload to phone, and voila! you have your phone back.

well not to post a direct link but googling "xda developer" might help you.

RSA - It's on the AT&T/Cingular site - and I take care of the account @ work so I talked to my corporate account rep over it. I should be getting my 8525 tomorrow to replace my 8125.. I used the cooked version of it for a little while to test; doesn't run the best on the 8125 because it's about half the speed of the 8525, but the new OS is really nice.

The problem is not the back up, it's all the hacks that need to be done manually.....

Oh boy,

Well, first I have a few easy ones that can be done both manually or via CAB files such as allowing certain buttons to be reprogramed. My PTT button is now my switch between vibrate and ring, my COMM button is now the lock.

Other things include a *.lnk file routed to my E button for Internet explorer that allows me to go right to the running programs screen, X-button to actually close programs when x-ing out instead of just minimizing.

I also have the today screen hacked to show WIFI and BT connections, a registry edit allowing me to switch bands manually so it does not go into 3G which is still new in my market, and the list goes on.....

I have had the phone for about 6 months now and the list is getting very long....

I was aware that I can get it from xda-dev, but decided against it because that would void my warranty. If Cingular if officially going to update our devices, as you stateed, that's awesome. My friend has WM6 and I have heard that it's faster than WM5.

honestly, most of the hacks I have done are right from XDA Developers 8525 Wiki....fairly easy, just need to donwload a free registry editor to do them.

This still bugs the crap out of me.. why is the HFL site showing the 8525 FAILED for all years ? It obviously pairs; but the HFL site says it did NOT pair.
