CD Disc Error

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Mine would have been happy if my CD player hadn't decided to eat itself while I was on the road today. I have an '04 Non Navi TL and for some reason the CD player stopped reading discs today.

I put a CD in the player and it takes and it blinks "Busy" for an inordinately long time and then flashes "Disc Err." I'm not sure what the problem is, I tried to run both burnt and retail CDs and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? I'm going to try to take it to a dealer tomorrow or Saturday, but I want to know what I might be looking at.

Thanks guys

Thumbs up

Same thing happened to me, and I have a NAVI in my '04 TL.

By all indications it seems that the CD unit itself is dead, which means it has to be replaced.

Of course, I'm not happy about this either, since it'll set me back between $150-250, depending on whether I do it myself or get the dealer to do it.

What ruffles my feathers about all of this is that it happened not even two weeks after I bought my TL. And I'm a college student at that, so yeah...

I need to call my dealership to see what they say and I'll let you know if they give me any info that would be useful to pass along to you. I just wish it wasn't two hours away or I'd just go take care of it right now.
