Car Audio in a TL? help.

I want to put in a bass system. i know plenty about car audio to do it, all except the fact that the TL has that weird head unit style where its split in half. so instead of trying to re-wire the whole thing with a new head unit and all, i want to keep the HU stock and just put in a sub and amp. later on im going to replace the factory amp and put in some new SQ speakers.

my question is. how can i hook up the new sub to the factory stereo deck?

im thinking i can use this to keep the factory deck and just add a new amp to the new woofers? it says a four channel out-put. it dosnt mention subs, which is why i ask can i use it for subs.

and since im assuming the pre-outs on that are about 2v, im thinking a line driver will boost my signal up a little bit

Hey guys, just bought the TL .... common problem, no one seems to know how to just throw a simple amp and sub with the stock head unit. Well just wanted to know why no one is going to DIY it? it seems pretty simple because there is already a stock SUB amp not pushing a lot, you would need to tap into the power, ground , and remote and piggy back the speaker wire with a speaker wire to RCA converter to the aftermarket amp. If anyone is interested I will make a DIY thread if someone is interested. Not gonna waste my time if I have no readers, let me know!

This has been gone over hundreds of times. It is extremely easy to throw in a sub and an amp and there are very detailed DIYs on this site. The search function will give you days worth of reading on the subject.

I added a sub/amp to my TL, used a basic LOC, tapped into the factory sub wires (I did disconnect the factory sub) and ran the power wires for the amplifier, very simple.

As for the PAC interface I dont have one in the TL but I do have them in both my Hummer H2 and my Z06, they make great products so I wouldnt hesitate to buy that for one second. When I added my sub I already had a LOC from my previous TL.
