Btooth after car shutoff....

I was using the HF as I pulled into my garage today and absent-mindedly ( jet-lagged ) turned the car off and walked about 15 feet away. I then realized the HandsFree was still operating ( I was still talking to the person ) even though the car was off. I was suprised and just sat backdown and finished the call.

Don't remember reading about this in the manuel ( it was a long time ago ).

I guess I need to RTFMA(again).

The manual says that if you are on a call, you can shut the car down and take the key out and still talk for up to 30 minutes.

Of course, it is probably easier to say "transfer" and take your call with you.

That's weird. Didn't you say goodbye to that person? I wonder why they didn't hang up?

My problem is my HFL stays linked to my phone after the car is off and even if I hadn't just finished a conversation. So if I'm not inside the car, my phone rings but I can't talk to the person. Is there any way to disable this?

Lightbulb This could be quite common...

Usually your BT phones may still connect to HFL unless you walk out of the range of HFL or it shuts down after a certain time. IMO.

Thumbs down 04 TL and Sony T616

Not always, but my phone connects even if I have not driven it for several hours. I hardly ever turn off Bluetooth on the phone.

It's a pain. I'm out in the garage quite often and when a call comes in I have to start runing into the house. Otherwise I can't speak/hear because of HFL. Although I did not answer the call yet, the phone will not let me turn off Bluetooth until I get out of range.

I have done that quite a few times and it works well. Once when I was sitting in the car for about 15 or 20 minutes talking while it was turned off the voice actually told me I was running the battery down and should transfer the call to the phone. It has only done that once and I was amazed.

My 04 TL HFL locked up on me mid call. It's says it's in use for 2 days now. Nothing works to stop this. Ive tried shutting the car off, turning the BT off on my phone, pushing buttons, holding them down etc. I called acura and they told me I need a new bluetooth and its going to run $450 for parts alone. I need to at least disable it cause I cant even listen to the radio. Anyone have any ideas on where to get less expensive parts? Or anyone have this trouble themselves?

Try resetting the system by pulling your battery for 20 minutes. Make sure you have your radio code.

There is a TSB for this (05-20).

This was one of the reasons for people's battery draining prematurely.
