I'm having an issue with electronics in my car. when my headlight is on my tail light does not come on. my navigation light does not dim when I turn on my headlight and everything in the middle including the blue led's and seat lights are out. anyone with any knowledge on if it's the fuse or something to do with wires? I do not know where to check for for this issue so If anyone can chime in and list any suspects, I would appreciate it.

 

No taillights could be a fuse, nav light not dimming is adjusted by the arrows and MAX button on the left side of dash ( IIRC you can just push the MAX button to turn that off, or push settings and change display to auto ), dash and seat lights could also be fuses. Check those first.

 

I tried max and min on the left side. i think a sensor or something might be shorted out because it has to do with the headlight switch. any ideal where the fuse is located?

did u check under options of the nav screen and make sure it is set to auto? ... if for some reason everything was reset, that will be too

 

yea, I had it set to auto and now it won't dim when i turn the headlights. does lights get covered under warranty? because my service adviser just told me that broken tailight is not covered under warranty. I doubt it but i'm just looking at the worse case scenario.

Cliff note:
Took my car in on 11-5-10
Couldnt find what's wrong with the car until 11-8-10
Dealer finds out that i had aftermarket headlights and depo and all the wires were done unprofessionaly. (why out of all the time I had the car it started doing this after I took it in for oil change 500 miles before questions if someone did something to cause this at the dealer)
I have Acura Care Warranty but since my car had after market parts i'm out 240 dollars.
Got the loaner until 11-15-10

Basically I took the car in on 11-5-10 and they had about 2 full days to look at the car. I called in on Monday morning to check the status and they tell me they are still investigating the issue. What happened was I have aftermarket headlight and Depo tail lights and since warranty does not cover after market they are making me pay 240. The previous owner decided to wire the car themselves causing massive tangles and splicing of the wires which took forever for the dealer to find the source of the issue. Dealer wants me to pay for half the labor while they cover the rest. I also went in with a bad window regulator and that is 100 dollar deduct so now i'm out 340 dollars. I told them that i don't have 340 to cough up right now but I will get paid on the 15th so that's when i can come in which the dealer didn't have a problem with. I bought the car as is so dealer will cover the labor part which I don't have a problem with but do you think it's smart for me to leave the car there untill the 15th?
