Bluetooth Stopped Working on '07 TL-S
The steering wheel Bluetooth phone activation stopped working. Not sure it helps in diagnosing but happened that day after driving through severe rains and flooding.
Would appreciate any assistance pointing me in the direction of diagnosing and repairing.
Thank you.

Otherwise, check the HFL operation-- is it working?
If not, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect (make sure you have the radio and Navi codes, as you'll need to reenter them); then check HFL operation.

for repair, check this thread and search for godin technologies. it gave my unit 8 more months of life before it died again.

if it is dead or does eventually die, make sure to unhook it right away. i thought i was special and didn't unhook mine, and a week later my battery was dead (it was a brand new battery). make sure you unhook it. i ended up buying a $20 bluetooth unit on amazon and it works great using the OEM 3.5mm jack to play out of my car speakers for phone calls.

Probably doesnt matter what weather you were driving in, sounds like the Bluetooth just decided to go out, very common problem and will need to be replaced.

I would troubleshoot first by unpairing device then repair it. Also is the phone new? on certain cars or phones there are software updates. Scan the car at a dealer. Is bluetooth not even recognized?

Damn those prices are insane! I bought my new one for half of this just a few months ago from amazon.

Dont forget there is now a core charge included in the cost that gets refunded when you send in your old unit. They are still about the same price.

Pulled mine out last night to avoid any problems with a battery drain. Picking up the new part at the dealer on Saturday. Pretty easy DIY, only tricky thing is the angle of the 2 torx screws. posting DIY video.

Bumping this thread -- I have the battery drain problem on my '07 TL-S. The vehicle was dead this morning for the 4th time, and this is with a battery that's @ 1 month old.
AAA came out and jumped the vehicle, and we've left it running/charging today. When I navigate to the Hands Free Link on my MID, however, the unit doesn't report "booting up". Instead the MID reads: "No Information Available." Now, let me say that we have never used the HFL functionality at all. We've never even tried to link a phone to it, and certainly we haven't used other voice commands either. Hence I can't say that it ever worked, or when it stopped working.
At present, however, pushing the "Call" button on the steering wheel -- which (according to the manual) should give me a beep, whereupon I would say, for example, "System", to which it would respond with a sentence -- does nothing. Pressing the button produces no "beep", and (obviously) commands are met with silence.
So, MID says "no information." And system doesn't do anything either.
My main goal is to avoid battery drain. Can I safely disconnect the HFL module (as in EMAS's video above) without compromising any other systems? I.e. if I disconnect it will this affect functioning of anything else whatsoever?
Thanks in advance for any informed responses!

Thanks, Will -- I appreciate the speedy reply!
I should also have asked if you or anyone understands why the MID would say "No Information Available." In any case, I will disconnect it. Thanks again.

The Acura battery drained again, before I had time to look further into the issue of the HFL. While it was dead, I removed the HFL unit, following the excellent diy video provided by emas (about 5 posts above). Thank you, emas -- you made it easy! Then I had the car jumped and ran it for a few hours.
I've driven it, and so far -- as Will Y. advised me above (thanks, Will) -- there are no associated problems w/ anything now that the HFL is out. Next is to let enough time pass to find out whether this solves the battery-drain problem. If so, I will proceed to replace the HFL unit with a new one. If it doesn't make the problem go away (he said, while biting his tongue!), I'll re-install the HFL unit and continue trying to debug this issue.
Fingers crossed!

I had to disconnect my HFL unit as well.
I was able to locate a site that sells the replacement without asking for a core charge, thought this would be of interest if you are looking to have working bluetooth in your car.
