blitzsafe aux
blitzsafe aux
i just got my package in today and install instructions say just plug into a 14-pin plug... i was wondering does this install lose any functions of the headunit.. cd, xm, etc?
No. The factory unit treats it as a CD changer. I have the HON AUX DMX v.2X
You can install it by removing the side center console panel on the drivers side (actually, several pieces to remove--search the 3G Garage for instructions). The 14pin connector is at the bottom left (facing the front of the car) of the headunit. Install the unit on the outside of the lower "cubby" storage unit, but make sure the door still has full travel before you mount it.
Mine took a bit of getting used to. You have to wait for the Headunit to "initialize" when selecting it up. Make a solid press of the DISC button and wait for it to switch over. I also find that if I turn off the car and come back later, it sometimes displays "CD4" on the Navi screen and I lose my volume/mode display on the center console LCD. It stills works okay, though.
Finally, the Blitzsafe tech support forum is spotty, at best. I had to post 3 times over 2 months before I got a reply to "disconnect the negative battery terminal for 3 minutes" as a solution to my issues with the unit. Admittedly, that seems to cure it when it acts up on me. Keep your Navi and radio codes handy. I also keep my Navi Hack CD in the glovebox!
Good luck!

Yes, you need your codes anytime you disconnect the battery.
I found most of my troubles went away when I removed the radio for some other work and had to plug it back in. I was able to make a better connection or something because it has been trouble free.

is there a way i can access the serial number for the radio without take my whole dash apart? ive called around and they said the vin number wont work. i need a the serial number for the radio.
Thats a good video, it works because I was in your same situation a few months ago. Call your local acura and nicely ask them for your radio code. Or like I said, someone can chime in here and give you your radio if you post your serial number here.
it didnt work for me. well i didnt lock the radio yet. i was just trying to get the serial and code before i disconnected my battery and locked it. could that be why ther serial isnt popping up?
The code wont appear until you diconnect your battery. Then you can try the method the video shows and you will get your serial number.
btw did u do this method with the non-navi radio?
well i tried reseting the radio, took out the fuse and put the code in and it still freezes up crazy. i even disconnected the blitzsafe aux and plugged in the original plug, but it still freezes up. any other options
Just installed the Blitzsafe aux I got myself in my 05 with Navi.
Actually a pretty easy job, just a little time consuming, and keep track of everything you remove.
need to loosen center console,
remove aluminum trim,
remove center side covers,
remove glovebox,
remove panel under steering wheel,
remove side panels of center dash,
remove center vents and display,
take out radio & screen,
connect blitzsafe and velcro it to the back on top of DIN radio,
test it,
reverse process.
You don't lose any functions, just pressing CD/Disc twice brings you to CDC (cd changer) which is actually your AUX input.
My top display typically retains whichever source prior to choosing CDC, but everything functions just fine.
Let me know if you have any questions, I can point you to the wealth of resources I found and relied on here!
Good luck!
P.S. just read that you've already installed it, but since I already typed all this out, it's here!
Dealer will have Navi and Radio code for your car, they just need your VIN number, and maybe serial of radio and nav if they have been replaced, however, they should have a record of it anyway.

I dont understand why everyone keeps trying anything other then the iSimple? When I did my research it was the most problem free out of all the units.. its not perfect but I dont see threads like this pop up as often for it.
as far as getting your radio code.. i couldnt get my serial number that way.. That was when my car was non-navi.. looks like you need th navi screen to be able to do get the serial number that way..
I now have navi, but never had to try and get my radio code.. since I had the number already..
