Whatever...they touted the V710 was coming and put it off for about 9 months before it finally came out....then they ran out of them. Not to mentino Cingular has many more options and more mid-market non high-end phones for those of us who just want something to talk on without the frills. Man Verizon drives me nuts. Not sure why I am still with them.

It's a safe bet this one will be released because :

a) the phone it replaces, the i700, went out of production 2 months ago and is officially 'Out Of Stock' on their website
b) every site reporting on this new model sez Late 2nd qtr.
c) a call to Verizon cofirmed it
d) as it's a $500+ PDA, the circulation #'s will be limited.

As for sticking with Verizon, people do for one very good reason:

Such may be the case with the V710, and I wouldn't put anything past any of these companies, but the phone I'm talking about in this thread runs Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC, and therefore works and syncs with just about anything Windows related; Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, Pocket Word/Excel, etc. etc. These Windows based units have an SD card slot which allows to you to universally transfer any type of file.

I have its predecessor, the i700, which I'd glady keep if the bluetooth SD cards out there could handle hansdfree headsets.

What I'm saying is that because Verizon crippled the bluetooth on purpose with the V710, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same on i730. You pay extra to get some features only to find out Verizon loaded a firmware to remove them.

That's what happened to the v710 and I'm afraid they'll repeat it with the i730.

they are def crippling the file transfer ability of the i730, but they should include a proper headset profile so that you can pair it with you TL.
