Best buy installing my system

I'm thinking of getting best buy to install my 500/1 and a 12" kicker L7. I have 07 TL with nav. Is there anything I need to know/do b4 I let best buy install it?

Your next thread will be titled "Best Buy ruined my car!"

Do yourself and your car a favor and take it to a qualified stereo shop!

I worked at Best Buy a few years ago when I was a freshman in college. I wouldn't say that EVERY Best Buy will ruin your car or have shitty installers because the guy I worked with was very good at it and was gentle on cars...didn't just throw shit around in them and hack em up. If you can and the price isn't too much higher, I'd take it to a dedicated audio shop for the best bet. I'm guessing you can't install b/c you wouldn't be asking if you could haha...so just call around and see what they'd charge.

Do you already have your amp kit?

I agree with Jamie (JPTL). If you have a custom car stereo store in your city, go to them.

I second that, it's probably worth a few extra bucks to get professional treatment, just do some research about who will install, and their experience, and most important.. attitude. If you feel they don't care they probably dont care. especially if a sales guy won't let you meet some installers or go over concerns with the installers.

That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind spending the extra money. I just want it done right and I've asked alot of people in my area where to go. I live 20 mins south of Boston MA

"custom" shop doesn't always=better quality install. I say where ever you go you can have a bad experience, Just talk to the installer and get a feel for him/her where ever you go. Find out there qualification, experience, insurance and warranty policies. Just because they can build boxed and sell high end products as a "custom" shop doesnt warrant better install.
