Bad Trunk Rattle/ Wobble

I have a 2006 Acura TL and I’m currently running 2 12” JL Audio Subwoofer with a JL Audio Amp as well (500watts)

There is certain times where I will be playing music and the bass would be hitting hard and then certain moments the top end of the trunk lid (Closest to the rear window) would wobble and sound really bad.

I did find a solution to that problem I think and that is what if I close the armrest in the back seat it wouldn’t do that wobble just rattle. The problem with that is that the subwoofer doesn’t bump as nearly as loud.

I’m wondering if anyone knows a fix or if anyone has had the same problem.

To be Honest, if you need your rear middle armrest down in order for the bass to be enough for you. It sounds to me like you need another amp and subwoofer set up.

But first things, if your able to stop the rattle by closing the arm rest. It sounds like something is loose, I’d take apart the rear seats and back cushions first. Then play your normal playlist that you usually listen to, and attempt to find what’s rattling that way.

Hopefully you can find out what the problem is that’s creating that rattling noise, and it can either be fixed by tightening some screws or with some Dynamat acting as A cushion to stop it.

Oh I forgot to ask, did you remove the rear dash subwoofer in the middle? That could also help you feel the bass ALOT more, cause I know some people get lazy and just leave it in there.
