Rattling

Street, ValueTL, and all other expirienced members:

I installed two audiobahn 12s and now I have two autotek predator subs. I have gain on my 750 watt amp turned half way, and the rear deck vibrates extensively, along with the trunklid and everything. There are also multiple squeeking noises. I want to know what can I do to prevent these things. Thanks guys...later bj

In order to fix the rattling in your trunk, try these...

Get some foam or weatherstrips from any local hardware store..home depot...Pop the upper trunk linings off and put the foam inbetween the wires...that's what's causing all the noise..I did that this weekend and I have hardly any rattles from the trunk unless I really crank it...and your license plates will rattle also...put some foam behind there too..that should solve it.

As far as the rear deck goes...I don't know how to fix it either..I'm also having some vibrations and rattles from there..even with the stock bose sub.

I have the same problem. IT's really depressing as I paid alot of money for my system, and am now ashamed to bump it due to the "excessive rattle".

And to think, I used to make fun of ppl who had trunk rattle. Now I am one of them.. .

But the foam/weatherstrip idea is worth a try. Maybe this weekend.

for rear deck, you can remove the cover (from inside) and put some dynamat or foam on the body frame and put back the cover ...... Becareful with the GPS antenna if your TL is equiped with navigation.

By the way, for those who don't wanna pay too much for sound deadening, ... check here for alternative to dynamat ... only 1.35 for 10'X10" sheet.
