Smile Back up camera

How come there are not more pics of the backup camera on this forum?

I need help please!

Which is better?

Avelectronics or Tvandnav2go?

When you install the back up camera do you have to drill holes in the car?

Please give me you thoughts and feed back.

Thank you in advance………………..

your talking about the navigation conversion module. there isn't much talk about backup cameras on the forum although a back up camera would be great especially with all the blindspots in the TL...there are a few threads on the forum if you search for Backup Camera ull find a few things.. good luck

The '03-04 MDX had an optional backup cam that interfaced with the navi. They also had the same navi ECU as the TL has now.

I dont know if the MDX had a HFL though...

So you are saying it takes the place of the HFL cable? When you go into the navi system diagnostic it shows the ECU being a seperate module from the HFL. I will take a pic if you really want one. I think my idea is the best for installing a rearview camera. It requires:
1. A Vsokolov unit
2. Licence plate camera
3. Power source(possibly add a circuit, but I think there are power sources in the trunk that are tapable since the camera draws virtually no power)
4. A 12 volt relay
5. Some wire

How to:

1. Install the vsokolov unit(how you power that and the camera is up to you)
2. Insert the relay somewhere in line from the reverse lights to the shifter switch
3. Clip the switch on the Vsokolov unit and connect the leads the two poles on the relay
4. Run the wires for the camera and connect it to the Vsokolov unit
5. Putting the car in reverse and look at what you are about to hit on your navi

Just gonna take a second to wave myself of all liability. You screw up, aint my fault. Ahh, thats better. Also, I haven't done this(yet), but with my vast amount of knowledge I assume this should work.

if you don't want to use a relay you can use the group from the indicator light on the shifter plate, and run that to the camera ground, so when you switch into reverse it will turn on
