Exclamation Auto headlight sensor

I'm planning on tinting all windows tomorrow at 15% but also the windshield at 50%. Can you guys share your experience with the auto headlight sensor after tint (especially windshield). Does it cause the lights to turn on too frequently and do you just resort to manually switching?

I don't believe you can legally tint your windshield at 50%. Why would you want to do this anyway - especially if you are only doing 15% on the other windows?

This is just to give it a more even look vs. an even more dramatic appearance of say 5% on all windows with nothing on the windshield.

I would check you local regs to see what is allowed and what isn't - legally. Over and above this, you are going to diminish you visibility out the all important windshield. It may look okay, but not sure how practical it is.

Agree - if you're concerned about the functionality of the sensor, don't tint the windshield lol

You should be able to change the sensitivity of the sensor in the MID though your key settings. All I will add is that if your insurance company finds out your have illegal windshield tint on your car and you get into an accident, you are not going to be a happy person...

In Hawaii windshield tint is now legal although only up to 70% which no local tiny shops carry :/ but it is a felony class crime if you were to get into an accident and they tag you for it.

Since everyone is harping on the legality and insurance coverage...how would this be any different from illegally tinting any window (side or rear for that matter). If I sideswipe something or back into something and make a claim, they could make the argument that my vision was impaired in either case.

Because you are obscuring / impacting / impairing your forward vision which is typically the direction your car is headed. Much the same way where there are states that do not allow you have have anything hanging from your rear view mirror.
