Audio install....let the games begin!

Okay, have been lurking for some time now. Getting ready to do a complete install in my 3g. 2006 TL navi. Installing a pioneer AVH-4100NEX, 4 jbl 6.5 in front and rear powered by the alpine powerpack, and rounded with an alpine SWS-15d2 sub pushed by the JBL 500 watt amp. I am bypassing the stock system completely, but is there anything I should look out for? Thanks. Will take pics and post .

And this is my current TL still working on it, almost done with the box and next thing will be trim to cover up the amps and LEDS.

Your dash is amazing. I finally got the baffle installed, and now need to get hot with sound. I didnt expect the baffle to take as long as it did. Lots of measuring and trimming. my impatience got the best of me, and I connected everything to "test" it out. sounds amazing. I still havent sealed off the trunk from the cabin, so we will see the improvement once the final product is completed. this has been tons of work to get to this point. Need to post some pics in the am.

now with everything hooked in (not pretty), the stock Nav display is stuck on a check your disk screen. Not sure how to turn it off, or clear the message. While I am at it, I need to replaced that display with something worthwhile. Might go for a Nexus, or try to mod a 7inch display into that space. Not saavy enough to do the full carputer, lol.

I could walk you through how to get a computer in your car, I have done ton of research with, and so on, are you planning on getting a sound processor?

I havent had a chance to tune the current setup, but I think a sound processor is in order. Just roughing it right now, and working out the "rattle". Will message you about the computer, sounds interesting.

Your pushing a 15" sub with only 500w? Shit son. What's the rating on that sub? Back in the day I had an Alpine 12" Type X sub with 1000w RMS going to it and I felt like it could take even more.

Its an alpine SWS-15D2. RMS is 500 max 1500, but set up IB, you dont need much to push the sub. Ive got it hooked up for 4ohm to the amp. Still have to tune everything and get the car put back together. Finally got the baffle carpeted and installed. Now to put the trunk back together.

Doubt that I am getting close to that. Dont have the gain up at all, trying to play it safe until I get a processor.

It has nothing to do with gains, you coud be on lowest gain and still receive full power out of the amp. DSP is amust,, have you seen new audiofrog dsp 24ch.... woohhaaa... waiting for it to come out. hope to see a controller for it as well... I hope !
