Kenwood double din frustrations

I am proud owner of a 2004 Acura TL, I'm learning the lingo. So I now know it is a third generation. So one of my first upgrades was audio. I tried to sTay stock but cd player didn't work so after much thinking and going back and forth (but no real research ) I decided on the Kenwood dd9902! The newest out on the market! I don't personally have any know-how when it comes to installing car stereos so I took it in to be "professionally " done. That's where the salesman introduced me to the above-mentioned stereo. Promised abilities such as : android auto, iTunes carplay, whatever itshe named, pandora, and finally screen mirroring! Which got my attention. After installation I download android auto and atempty to work with that. Which is kinda cool if u don't mind the freezing and the seemingly limited too audio apps i.e. pandora, spotify, etc, navigation, via ggogle, and Bluetooth phone calls. Which as u know I already have. So I Uninstall. The android auto app and atempt t9 screen mirror. No such luck! I first tried blutooth, simple but no mirror! Then I try using Kenwood smart phone app, this too didn't work. So I did a Lil research and found that I needed an adaptor! So online I went and ordered the adapter. Wrong one I'm told you gotta get this one that's especially for Samsung! Adapter ordered! Excited to finally use my 750.00$ stereo to its full capabilities! This adapter doesn't work either. So finally ready to give up I hear of the magical, wireless thingy. This should go without saying that this also didn't work. Anyone know of this issue and have gone through it with better results then I? I'd love to keep it if I could only get the mirror application to work, which the box the stereo comes in promised it does....

Welcome to the forums.

I deleted your other thread since it was an exact duplicate of this one.

I edited this thread for obvious reasons. If you have any questions you can send me a PM.

Check with your wireless carrier. Verizon phones have had issues with android auto and mirroring. Might be something to look into. As far as the mirroring, I had to use the USB connection, not the HDMI, and then setup the unit for mirroring. Mine, you have to chose auto or mirroring. It wont let you do both. Not sure why.
Good luck

Depending on the model of your Samsung phone, some export video wirelessly, while others use a 5 or 11-pin MHL cable. Once again, depends on the model of the Samsung phone. What model is your phone?

have you contacted Kenwood to see if it's a compatibility issue with their product?
