Anyone has remote start installed? Is it worth it?

Found a good deal on Viper 5902 from a buddy, was wondering it's worth it to get since I'm not going to install it myself so I figure another $300 for install on top of the price of the unit.

Your opinion is greatly appreciated !!

I have one and barely use it... even on very hot and cold days.

I had one on my 98 Civic 5spd and I LOVED it! I used it every time i would go anywhere in the winter. Nothing like a warm car on a zero degree day! summer I never used it.

I have one installed on my 07 TL Type-S and its great. I got the one that integrates with the switchblade key. So i just press the lock button twice and my car fires up. Very convenient to have. I paid 250.00 to have it installed. I think its great for the winter time because while i brush off the snow Tiffany can get warmed up.

I have the 5902 and it rocks just know that you will also need a bypass module for the remote start to work. I used the canmax400dei module and it worked great!! Where are you located?

Just curious, what is the point of a remote start controlled by the factory key? It can only be like 75' of range, yes?

you might not use it as much in so. cal. but on the really hot days you can cool it off so its not scorching when you get in.

From what I have gathered (I can be wrong though)

The FLCAN is the part needed to make the OEM remote work with Aftermarket Alarms/Remote Starts.

i have the compustar remote/alarm starter on my 06 TL. It's worth it if you live in Alaska in general cold weathers. Mines is a 2miles range radius so that's bad a$s. Thinking about upgrading and adding the Drone to it so i can use my Droid X instead of the compustar remote. oh btw i spent close to $800 and this was installed in Alaska!

i am in northern virginia and it has just started getting bitter cold outside and a remote start especially in the morning is such a great thing to have the temperature is always what you want it to be and your car is ready to drive off since it has had sufficient time to warm up while you are just rolling out of bed. I had one on my previous car and would reccommend it to anyone in the market for one. I had a viper (forget the model number) but I am currently in the market to get one for my 05TL and the Python 991 (5702p) looks pretty good
