Any way to add an input to Stereo system?

I have Canadian version of the T/L....no satelite radio... can this input be used to connect an IPOD or any other mp3 player?

yes, the sat radio input should be able to be used, however, you do not have a button for XM on your head unit, so not sure how you would access it.

Possibly your unit does not have an aux inuput?

Excellent question, I'm thinking of purchasing an iPod soon and would like to use something other than the tape deck to hear it.

Ricco,

If you download the tif files from the following thread, then you can see all the wiring for the audio system and work with a local radio shop to see if you can get them to install an interface for you.

The svc manual is for both the USA and Canadian versions, but from the svc manual, it shows the XM system which is a USA thing.

good luck!

If you do have/get an iPod, get a griffin technology iTrip. It's an FM modulator (plays over the radio) that I use at home and in my car. You can select the frequency it plays over, so you're not fixed to 87.5 or whatever. I love the thing and recommend it to anyone who has an iPod!

rico, being in canada, your head unit is different than ours, (no xm), and I noticed on your unit, the far right mode button read's "Tape/Aux" so you should be able to tap into that auxiliary selector, where we have none in the states.

Good luck!

What would have been the best solution would've been a Bluetooth interface! then we could download information (diagnostics, gas usage, etc.) to out Pocket PC's, stream tunes from our PPC's, MP3 players, etc.

I second that request.

Am also in a similar situation to the original poster non-nav Canadian model.

Does your US model include the cassette tape player ?

Yes, the US model does include a tape deck.

The buttons under the CD insert read:

[DISC - TAPE] [AM/FM] [XM] [DISP MODE]

That is the working link that you guys wanted. But, apparently the diagrams don't show up. Give me a few minutes and I will get your audio wiring diags from it.
