Help. 12V Remote Wire for Amp Install?
Can someone tell me where to find a 12v source the remote lead on a aftermarket amp. I tried to cut into the remote turn on in the factory amp but it seems be only putting out about 6V. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Not a Blowhole
I do not recommend pinning bare wire under anything - it is an unsafe way to wire.
I believe the owner's manual illustates the fuse panel, anbd which sockets control what.
The driver's side kick panel area fuse/relay box has some unused taps - one is switched, one is always live, etc. Use a VOM or light probe to determine which is providing the B+ 12VDC you need. The, use a quality female quick connect crimped to a wire for your 12VDC source. If you need a negative connection as well, there is a star grounding site located near the same panel (it will have a bolt with a lot of wires with round ring connectors underneath it).
You can also use fuse taps - they are small metal connectrs that fit underneath a fuse, and provide a male quick connect termination.
Third, there are taps that cut through the insulation of a wire with the voltage you need, whether switched (by the ignition in run) or unswitched (live all the time).
If you are not sure of what you are doing, enlist the help of someone who does, or a pro. A few $'s invested now will ensure a reliable, safe connection, protecting your electronics, your warranty, and possibly avoiding damage or even a fire.
