Is there a way that i could manually activate the rear view camera on my navi while driving fwd?

I saw a similar thread on RDX forum, but i was wondering if anyone got it to work with our 3G TL.

Would the ones switching the screen with Asus still get the camera? and if so would it be easier to trick the system with that interface?

with that diy once activated the navi screen will display what the camera is looking at even when driving??

It should, according to the DIY.

I'm not 100% sure how the nav system detects the car is in reverse, but I'm willing to bet it uses the reverse lights, which doing this mod will allow you to turn on the reverse lights at will, which will turn on the reverse cam also.

 

True- i dont remember what color the wire was, but i spliced into it near the driver's footwell area and added a switch (much closer than running a wire to the trunk). When flipped, my reverse lights would come on and my backup camera would show what was behind me.

 

Can you find out which one plz? If i can avoid running the wire from the trunk its so much easier!
