Amplifier placement???

Hey guys Im about to put an aftermarket amp in my TL. I want to place the amp somewhere in the trunk where it's hidden. I want to be able to open up my trunk and not see it. Some might ask why would you want to keep it hidden? Answer: I work in NYC in a bad neighborhood and literally anything can happen lol. So if you have any pics or ideas on where
you can mount an amp and keep it hidden please post.

I don't really want to lose the spare just in case of a flat. Do you know of anyone who's placed it maybe behind one of the panels in the trunk?

i dont know how you will be able to mount it then. possibly if you make a box on the seat perhaps. not too big to reveal it but enough for the amp to fit in and just cover it with the same felt material on the back seat.

I have this post going on that may help sooner or later with this topic.
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/better-sub-oem-mount-760626/

I was thinking about a mounting a after market amp to like the back of the rear seat area and then have a fake back wall same color and fabric as rest of trunk that amp could also be mounted to that folds down if you need to get to it and make it totally hidden. I would like to mount a better to the same location as the OEM sub (replace OEM sub) and try to keep the OEM look.

I can't find good info on the location/wire/connection to tap in to allow a aftermarket amp to turn on when the cars audio is turned on. Please post or link info.

LOL You said "Vote meter" I'm sure your referencing to a volt meter. I have and use a volt meter every day for work. I think you missed my question though. I'm looking for the connection /wire so the after market amp to turns on and off the same time the radio if turned on a off.

I mounted my 4 channel amp under the driver's seat. The wiring diagram can be found in this diy thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...light=toasters

yes. thanks for correcting me on the spelling. you need it to prob the back wires. find the wire that is hot while the radio is on, and off when not. If the acura comes with an onboard amp i'd just try to find that one. if anything theirs always the other lines that come on only when the car is, and you can always put a switch on it.

The factory amp is in the passenger side footwell, under the kick panel.

As far as hiding the aftermarket amp, mount it under the rear deck... Or better yet you can mount them to the back of the seats, make a fake back-wall with some holes/slits cut out in the top with fans to help keep the amplifiers cool...
