Are Acura and Honda Nav discs interchangable?

Hi guys, I have a 2008 TL and a 2006 Odyssey Touring that both have Nav. Today I recieved emails for upgrade offers for both. While I would love to do that I just can afford to buy two new dvds at $185 ea. So what I was thinking of doing was buying one disc for my Acura and then taking my old disc from that car and using it in the Ody. Not brand new but two years newer than what's in there now.
Would that work?

Are Honda's navi DVD upgrades $185 as well?

I do not think they are because the Acura nav is much more advanced. When I got my 08 TL-S for a very good deal...it came with no nav disk. I made 4 or 5 trips to the dealership (wich was 1 hour from my home) where they kept trying to give me older model Honda nav disks which did not work....so I gave up & bought a new one.

Got it. So Honda & Acura navi DVD's aren't interchangeable.

Nope sorry, I can tell you first hand that they are exactly the same. The only difference is that the HFL is active on the Acura but I do not believe that is actually related to the Nav dvd.

Oh and BTW, I should have mentioned that both upgrade discs are 2010 White DVD Map Update v4.81.

Well there you go, I was given 04s and I believe an 06 nav disks and none of them worked on my 08 TL-S.

There's a thread from a long time ago that showed the problem with this. When the disks were swapped everything was fine until the first time the battery was disconnected. Then many of the audio options were lost. It reverted to whatever model Honda it came out of with no subwoofer, center, or rear channel options. There were some other options that were lost too but this was an old thread and my memory is a little faded.

I was in an 08 Odyssey last night and the navi was exactly the same as my old 08 TL-S. Not sure if the disc were identical or if the program itself was as far as controlling everything.
