No, it's not new. On plenty of road trips, I would search for hotels and then call them using the Navi function. Cool feature, however!

That particular road is so new that I'd be very surprised if it's on there. Note that it would likely become obsolete really quickly anyway because of the other roads related to that one that aren't done yet (the Boudinot Drive ramp and some roads leading into that BRAC project at the Proving Ground). The Beltway construction and the ICC in Maryland will both render the 2011 disc obsolete quite quickly even if the Fairfax County Parkway segment were on there. For $99 I may order it anyway. I haven't updated mine since 2007 or 2008.

Ordered! Should be a huge improvement over my stock disc... total $117.94 to TX...on a side note, will upgrading this make my splash screen hack stop working?

Put mine on order. $117.50 to my door. Weird how they collect taxes, though. Almost nothing I order online gets taxed when sent to me here in MO.

Yeah, but the instructions say to be on a "known" or "digitized" road before you do the first trip calculation. Other than that, it's plug and play.

The instructions are in the little booklet the disc comes in. Very simple.

Exactly why I jumped on these for $99 for each of my vehicles. $185 per is ridiculous, maybe they finally figured that out with all the Garmin, etc., competition and made the price a lot more reasonable.

The original discs are notoriously hard to copy--check out the 3G Garage. I was able to burn a backup of my 4.63 white disc with ImgBurn, but I think you had to have the original disc in to install the software update before the backup would work.

It's a good deal at $100 but like someone said, I wouldn't pay more than $20-$30.

Perhaps I have missed something here but what is the difference between the orange and white discs? Is it just a designation for model years? I have an '04 and an '05 and both have the original NAV discs installed in them.

Thanks gentlemen for this link. Looks like a super chance to do the upgrade.

UPDATE:
I decided to hit both links to see what they said and the answer to my question above was in thje link. I'm ordering. Thanks again!

If you can burn a xbox360 game that has way more security features then a navigation dvd then am sure you can burn this navigation dvd with no problems.

I really still think 100$ is too much where on my iphone 4 i have navigon and tom tom obviously my iphone is jailbroken

Ya you can burn Xbox games but you have to flash the dvd roms on your xbox drive. I'm sure theres a way to burn the orange disk but unlike the xbox there isn't a group of computer geeks sitting at home trying to crack the acura navigation disk. I wish there was though..

When I first started the car this morning at 9:45, I was disappointed to see the clock reading 10:45. But a few seconds after I pulled out of the garage, it corrected the time. Don't know if it was still booting or if it needed a sat signal for the change to take effect. But at any rate, yes, it does fix the DST problem!!

trust me you won't need to flash your dvdrom in the TL it just needs layer brake on so it would play.

Man, the shipping was QUICK. I ordered the orange disc update on Friday and FedEx just delivered it about 15 minutes ago (it wasn't due to arrive until tomorrow). Quite impressive. Thanks to those who posted this thread, as I would not have ordered the update but for the $99 promo.

(I have not driven my TL since October 30, but it will be driven quite soon so as to allow me to install the new disc. Too bad I won't be able to confirm until March 13 whether it has a DST patch.)

Today was the first day I drove my car with the updated disc, so I just wanted to make a quick update. The most immediate thing I noticed is that the DST issue was fixed. More importantly, my home and the surrounding streets were now on the map. I can now input my home address on my Navi. Will report back if I notice anything more significant.

Has anyone been successful in getting a price adjustment/refund for the $99 price?

I had ordered mine White update on Friday, but did not see this thread until today so I paid the full $185. I called today to see about getting a price adjustment for the $99 and the gentlemen I spoke to took my information and said he needed to pass it along to supervisors and I'll either see a refund or get contacted by the end of the week. He seemed to say that they have heard of this "error" in the website. Not sure how it can be an error when you have a specific address for a website and the language reflects a special pricing.

I cannot imagine they would refuse to give the adjusted price, but who knows. Would appreciate any input as I'm wondering if I should reorder at the $99 price to be safe. Of course then I'd be out an extra $20 in shipping charges.

How can you tell this, though? I just installed the new DVD (orange) and I had previously turned off the auto-DST option. When I turned the option back on after doing the update, it didn't change the time (I guess it assumed what was set was correct). It seems to me that if you had auto-DST turned on, it would be impossible to tell whether the DST aspect was updated because it would have set the clock back prior to today regardless of whether the software used the new rules or the old rules. Can you confirm how you know it has a patch? (I suppose I'll know for sure come March 13, although I should also note that I only drove it about a quarter-mile and then adjusted the clock manually when I pulled back into my garage.)

To answer vp55's question from further back, the new extension of the Fairfax County Parkway is NOT included on the map (though my breadcrumbs from a few weeks ago survived the update). Nor are the new ramps at the Telegraph Road interchange on the Beltway (no surprise there, since the construction won't be done until 2012) or the ramps from Mill Road into the Beltway express lanes over the Wilson Bridge. The quad-carriageway Wilson Bridge setup IS on there, as is National Harbor over in Maryland. I ultimately figured that since I know my way around here, all these things weren't terribly important, especially when it's just going to be obsolete every few months as the Beltway HOT lane project continues. But this is the first time I've seen them offer a $99 price in six years of owning a TL, so it seemed like a good time to update.

I am driving a 2008 TLS and still debating if I should upgrade my nav disc. I know it's probably worth it coming from an older TL, but is it worth an upgrade coming from an 08?

For those of you with the white disc, do you guys notice any other differences beside an updated map? Is the search engine better?
