Simply because you can't burn it.

The copy protection on it is tight.

Again, I am not saying that I want an "illegal" copy (I know its illegal and thats what most people are going to say.)
see above for a different reason other than it being illegal.

This is enough reason for me.

I understand that its "frowned" upon on this site and am not trying to step on toes. I was merely wondering what was stopping 'John Doe' from burning a copy and passing it out like candy to friends/family.

Again, I ordered the CD so its all good!

$99 is a GREAT deal for something that is $185 normally...

They sure as hell should. $10 for a friggin CD? I'd rather have the option for USPS 5-day service for $1....Ridiculous....but they still got my $115

The disks are stamped in a manner that consumer DVD burners cannot replicate. The issue is that the DVD's are dual layer and consumer burners burn from the inside of the disk to the outer edge, and then back. The navi disks are the opposite!

Thanks, jist ordered the white disc for my 07. Is there a market for the used disc? If I could sell the old disk the price becomes better than awesome.

Try posting in the black market. Sometimes people will "downgrade" when selling their car or they need a cheap disk that didn't come with the car.

I don't know where Toronto will ship from but over here in BC it shipped from a depot 20 minutes from where i live like an hour after i ordered it. I don't understand why it is 30 dollars to ship a dvd, i guess because it is signature required and fedex?

My 2004 disc stopped working due to scratches, so when I ordered a 2010 disc as a replacement, I spent quite a bit of time trying to copy it because I wanted to have a backup for myself. I did a bunch of research on modes and disc types. After a half a dozen DVD burning attempts with different software and wasting about $10 in DVD-DualLayer disks (they aren't cheap!), I finally gave up.

I had read about this and there are some tutorials online (on some GM forums) that talk about how to set up the burning software to overcome this difference. I tried these various settings with no luck. I really don't think it is possible to make a copy of the Acura discs with an off the shelf computer.

... and I think I paid $149 for my disc. Damn you all getting this for only $99!

Is there anything new with these discs, other than support for new roads? Such as a different appearance on the nav screen, etc..

Also, anyway to confirm an update has been made around an area? We just had the Fairfax County Parkway finished around my area in NoVA and wanted to be sure it's on the new DVD before purchasing.

Man it would be nice to have the new disk even though my phone routes nav seamlessly with satellite and street view to boot. Lets hear some reviews!

You can try to return it. I wouldn't mention the lower price though otherwise they most likely won't credit you the money.

All I have noticed is more supported roads. I dont know if I could before, but if I search for something in the nav - ie: Speedway - I can call from the nav screen. I have an 05 - Can anyone say if this is new? Its in the top right hand corner...

My 3.4 disc allowed you to make calls from the nav as well. For me it was a no-brainer to upgrade, as I had to double-check on my iPhone that the location hadn't changed.
