2005 Acura TL Subwoofer

Is it possible to hook up a different sub to the system instead of the stock one but keep it inside the car maybe even replace the stock one?

thanks

I think it popped, went from a nice deep bass to rattle. Is it going to be possible to fix it or replace it??

Not sure what you mean by "keeping it inside the car", but yes...you can easily add a sub/amp or replace the current 8" sub with something. Adding a sub/amp will be 10x better though

Blkmz3- the stock sub is located in the middle of the rear deck. Go to the trunk And pull the clips off the top liner so it'll come down and see if your sub is still there. There should be a harness there that he might have unplugged...just need to plug it back in. The previous owner likely used an LOC, so he cut those wires near the stock sub And wired it into an LOC so he could use an aftermarket amp.

Search. It should be easy to find, there's one of these threads a week.

Trunk-Monkey, so the sub is that center piece at the rear windshield window? There are 2 speakers on each side and a center piece. I'll check if the harness is still there but I did see sep wires for the aftermarket sub. a 12v and ground and a 3rd wire.

If so, you may not have a sub in there...just use the aftermarket wiring. Sounds like the guy made your life easier.

To OP, if it went from being good to rattling it probably finally blew. If you're not into upgrading stuff, just replace it. Rear seat and rear deck will need to come out, but it's not rocket science.

Welcome to the site and try and search internally or google and include acurazine and what you're looking for. This topic is frequent.
