Exclamation 2004 Acura TL & iPod Adapter. HELP!

I wanted to connect my iPod Classic via the XM Satellite plugs which I heard was possible.
I own a 2004 Acura Tl, automatic.
Please help with suggestions on which adapter/brand to go with and how to go about doing it?

Appreciate it!

There are several iPod adapters that will get this job done. The best bang for the buck is definitely the Peripheral Media Gateway kit, also called the iSimple kit.

This kit charges the iPod. It also displays iPod text info on your radio or nav screen. You can control the iPod functions from the radio, steering wheel buttons and from the iPod itself. This Peripheral kit also has an auxilary input if you have an additional device you'd like to use.

Here is a video of the Peripheral Media Gateway in use.... http://www.pac-audio.com/videos.aspx

Just click on the HONDA video tab.

I know someone on this forum who had the Nero unit on either an 04 or 05 TL and he did not have all the functions of the 06 TL. I seem to remember that he did not get all the text displayed. I think the reason is that the 06 had an updated head unit that was ready for XM capability (Canadian TL).

I just installed mine like 2 hours ago. The iSimple is definitely the way to go. VERY easy to use, flawless integration and as long as you take your time and are careful, easy to install. I took my SWEET ASS time to do it, but some people on here have done it in as little as an hour or so. Check out Uncald4's link, its a pretty cool toy to have.

i've been meaning to get one but here's my "?" I have xm and nav traffic and want to retain those features and also at some point down the line I am going to be installing a system(haven't figured out what I want yet) but I definitely will be putting in screens in the headrests and so on. Which unit should I use to keep all of this.

What's this that I hear about the iSimple unit freezing when it's cold out? Is that a common problem with this device?

Not to jack your thread or anything but I'm also looking into the isimple. I noticed on BestBuy's website they have one for $90 and it says its compatible with most radios. And then there is one for $150 that says Acura. Whats the difference? Would I be able to just use the one thats $90? I have an 05 TL.

^ $150 - For Select Acuras

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/iSimple+...mple&cp=1&lp=3

^^ $90. More of a generic model I guess???

I would say spend the extra money and go with the 150 model. It has a harness made specifically for your Acura that the 90 dollar model doesn't have and everyone on the board here is familiar with the 150 model if you run into a question or snag.

+1 on the recommendation for the Peripheral Electronics iPod adapter. I have a Dice unit and I really cannot recommend it to anyone. I started a thread regarding their customer service support as well as their take on the issues with their unit and iPhone OS 3.0 or higher.

No, but really, thanks for the helpful input. I have long been looking for an adapter for my '04 but only have used the FM radio transmitter.. hate it.

I would also like something that I can just plug in and control with my regular car controls.

Btw, the 'installation' party. Is it easy? Cus I don't want to go in there and butcher my shit lol.

Yeah that's if you get a good unit. I hear they have horrible quality issues. Read some where there is a 50% chance it wont work.
