'08 Non Navi to Navi?

Hey, I've done some searches through the website and can only find people who've converted their 3G Non navi TLs, back in like 2010, and it was on a 2005. Is there any updated information or guidelines? I'm interested in having this done.

you will need connector and do your own harness require of soldering wires. You can buy a custom harness but its gona cost around $400 just for the harness, beside the harness you will need the DVD nav drive, nav screen and the display unit. You will need a repair manual to get the pin connection lay out.

He also needs all the sensors, no? Not sure how it all works, but what about stuff like the yaw sensor, etc?

Back when I had an '03 Accord coupe, I wanted to put oem navi into the car. It was an option available in the US but not Canada. However, looking into it, it was much too cost prohibitive. Ended up scrapping that dream.

You can buy a TL with nav for like 1000-1500 more, over one without. Doing it all yourself will easily exceed that price. You'd be better off just selling your car and buying one with the navi already.

These days with phone based nav as good as it is I wouldn't bother converting it over based on cost and likely, lack of benefit. What I would do is use a BT adapter in the car (relatively cheap) and then if you need nav, use the BT to have the directions given verbally over the car speakers and you would have BT streaming audio as well. The center stack in the 07-08 cars actually looks quite a bit better than in the earlier cars. That's just one opinion however.

TL nav is tracking by SAT, all US TL has SAT as standard equip regardless of navi or nonnavi model. Someone here in the past already convert his 05 non nav to navi and he confirm the part need for possible swap.

I never heard yaw rate sensor needed for a navi conversion. Here its the DIY on the 04-06 model DIY.

Thanks for the info. I figured as much. I just was curious.

I had bought the Navi unit, to do a tablet install. Just going to go back to factory and now have to sell the nav unit.
