Yours thoughts about this '06 TL

Hello all! I've been surfing Acurazine for about six months now and I'm seriously considering purchasing a TL. I’m looking to save some money and pick up a new or slightly used 2006 TL. I came across this gem a few days ago: 2006 TL, anthracite (gray) exterior, ebony (black) interior, navigation system, 6-speed manual and has 5,550 miles. It's going for 29,995. When I asked why so the low mileage they said it was traded in for a larger luxury sedan vehicle. Obviously this is their asking price but what is a responsible offer? This vehicle will be bought, not leased. I test drove it on city streets and on the high way. It felt fine but I only took a 10 minute test drive. Also, the car has tint on all four passenger windows and rear. I forgot to inquire who installed / preformed the tint job. Should I? Anything else I should check? What do you guys/gals think? I live on the west coast if that matters at all. Thanks for your help!

If your on the West Coast especially- and if you can find any, people are picking up new 06's at that price point.

Get a new one

Dunno about west coast, but i got mine in chicago... navi for $30800, last month... manual's were going for the same prize, actually a couple 100 less. and they had a lot of navis in stock too... acura's resale value is awesome, but isnt it worth spending an extra 1000 and getiing a brand new one, in whatever color u want?

Trance...Go for the New. The price is not that off. Im in the market to for a TL too and Im getting prices from 29999 to 31000 for a new tl with Navi.

But stock is running out. So your option maybe be slim. Like Im in the bayarea and most of dealers are out. I might have to go down towards La area to get a TL

Yeah, I've been looking around all of Nor Cal for a new '06 with the gray/black color combo with navi but no luck so far. Even So Cal is in short supply. But what is a good offer for this car listed above? Also, should I inquire about the tint job (and if so, what should I ask about? Material/brand used?) Thanks.

make sure the tint is 100% non-metallic if ur TL has a navi.

also check the rubber stripes on both sides of the window to see if theres felt on both surface (roll ur window all the way down). no felt = scratch on tint for most TL owners.

Everyone on here is saying "go for new" but they are not taking into consideration that this is the dealer's STARTING price. Nobody EVER pays that so offer him the market value $27,500 and don't budge. You should save yourself about $3K over a new one. Just let the dealer know that you know that there are about $3K of factory-to-dealer incentives on the remaining 2006's and if they want ANY chance at selling a USED one, they are going to need to come down on the final sale price of the used one.

I would not worry about these minor things. A complete tint job is something like $200 so no point in indicating ANY value of the existing tint job to the dealer.

randomhero,

If I were you I would pay a little more and get the brand spankie new. It feels so much better having a new car.

As far as my experiences with my new '06 TL 6spd MT, I'm having a little fuss about the hard shift. It's sometimes doesn't want to go into the 3rd gear with small effort. You gotta push it hard to put it in the gear. Any other gears takes no effort to shift. I have heard the 3rd gen TL 6spd MT's have this issue.

Other than that, this car is a w e s o m e. It's ultra smooth, ultra fast, and has great handling. The 6spd MT is also equipped with a pair of Brembo Disc brakes.

either get a new one or pay at most 29.5k OTD. this will make the car around 27k.

Thanks for all your input. I might call around once again and check if they have the color combo I'm looking for (hopefully with a 6MT and navi).
