ok so last night im on my way home from a dealership checking out a new M3. Anywho I was on the highway goin about 80 when all of the sudden my BEL 995 went off (cop was cruiser ahead of me). So I slowed down to 65. All of the sudden this LS430 comes and rides RIGHT behind my ass. Seriously like 6" away. I look in the mirror and its some 40 year old dude and he starts honking at me to speed up and the fuker highbeams me the whole time. Im trying not to speed so I dont get pulled over. I dont wanna piss the guy off so I change lanes. the Fuker FOLLOWS me in the other lane and tailgates me there too so im like dude, wtf is goin on. So I speed up a little as I see the cop takes the next exit. He comes beside me and rolls down his window and screams something profane and something somethign honda (I couldnt really hear him cuz of the wind noise from my windows being down and my bad ass ELS system his gay LS doesnt have ). Anywho, this guy speeds up somemore and cuts me off, i almost wrecked into him if I didnt break a little. and then this guy guns it. now im pissed and I catch up to him QUICK. I know that the LS is a luxury sedan and has like 300HP give or take? so I didnt think I would catch him cuz it looked like he was goin pretty quick. Anywho I surprisingly catch up w/ him at about 110mph id say and im slowly gaining on him. I almost pass him, when the BASTARD throws a FUKIN SCREWDRIVER at me!! he nicked the paint right off my fuckin passenger right door :sqntfawk: . It looks pretty deep. I wish I had my digital camera so I could post them. I think ill buy a disposable and get them developed. I pulled over immediately to check the damage and as he goes off I see the fuker give me the finger through his moonroof! thank god I had my maglite to check the damage (all yall should buy one, theyre useful). omg I fukin HATE some people who think their car is the shit cuz of the name. Any idea how much it is going to cost? It went all the way down to the metal and about 2" side. :'(

 

How about writing down the as* fuc*'s plate and reporting him to the police......what a 40 year-old as*hole.

 

That sucks man! Maybe next time you should just ignore people like that and let them be... if anything call the cops if they are driving dangerously. -- I hope it won't cost you too much to fix the damage. This could be just a person having a bad day or something -- not to judge all bmw/lexus owners.

First of all, he was a dick. Secondly, he was probably pissed because you were cruising in the passing lane. I'm not saying any of it was justified, but it can be frustrating... I'm not referring to your particular case, but it's soooo annoying when there's one car in the passing lane, in lock step with a car to his/her right, and there's no traffic in front of either of them, and there's a boatlaod of traffic wanting to go faster that's stuck.

Finally, you should have gotten his license plate and called the cops.

I have an idea for scenarios exactly like this. In my state (Florida) we have a phone number for highway patrol emergencies like reporting drunk or dangerous drivers. The number here is *FHP for cellular phones. I'm sure you have an equivalent in your state.

Once I saw an obviously drunk driver swerving all over the road and median. I made the call and the dispatcher took down some pertinent data like: description (and license plate) of the vehicle, location, direction, etc. The dispatcher told me an officer would take care of it ASAP. I do not know if an officer finally caught the dude, I exited the highway at my usual spot.

If it were me, I would have dropped a dime on this prick in a heartbeat.

 

That sucks!! Have you written down his licnese number and report to the police or your insurance company? May be that would help a bit. For me, I would just let that sucker go and not speed up to catch him (waste my gas and time). Too many stupid drivers do this all the time and always think they are doing the right thing while they actually disobey the law (speeding, tailgating, honking, flashing high beam, etc.). I always simply ignore them because I have the right to drive on any roads under speed limit, period!!

 

When people tailgate me at highway speeds, I casually flick a cigarette up in the air out the window and it usually ends up in their windshield. If it escalates any further, I'll invite him to the shoulder to take care of the rest.

 

I know this may be a little CSI, but I DO have the screwdriver he threw at me cuz I went back and got it. Maybe we could fingerprint it and search every LS owner in Oklahoma. lol

 

Most LS owners are 60, so I don't see how your example reflects on Lexus owners in general. And what do BMW or M-B owners have to do with your story? People are idiots sometimes and it has nothing to do with the brand of car they drive. I've seen my share of idiot Integra/RSX drivers but I don't say "WTF is wrong w/ some Acura owners?!"

Well not all Lexus owners are like that, and i wouldnt say people who have a benz or a beemer have the same mentality. take my dad for example. He drives in the slow lane with his 540i going 5 under the speed limit. he gets honked all the time by these banked up cars passing him and cutting him off. Fortunatly, he has no road rage and just lets them do their thing

I was in boston the other day and taking this offramp with my cousin in the front and my mom in the back, and my mom allways screams at me saying that im going to fishtail with the speed i take those off ramp turns (it really isnt that fast). anywho i didnt want my mom to say it this time so i took the turn at a regular controllable speed, and its one of those 360 offramps with forest in the middle, so what do you know this blue M3 comes right on my ass and is trying to pass me in a one lane road. At the time my mom is oblivious but she just notices my downshift into 3rd and flooring it and she flips a shit... I back off as the M3 wizzes by me and my mom screaming her ass off.

NO JOKE MAN! I seriously hate the arrogance and the self-absorbtion SOME BMW, Lexus, benz Drivers have. I mean thats why I kinda got the TL, not too flashy, not too hyundai-ish...but somewhere smackdab in the middle. i know its not all of the extravagent drivers, but some of them are way too zealous and crazy. I mean you get flamed in whatever forum just for saying you drive this and this or whatever. theyre all like yea my car costs $99999999 more than yours, therefore Im the better man. Thats why im kinda leary on getting the M3 cuz i know it has a LOT better chance of getting keyed, spat on, or hated on. I mean Id seriously buy the M3 if it was made by kia or hyundai or someone but has the Build Quiality, power, and looks that it does now. I could really care less for the brand. but hey, to each on his own....

i had a similar experience a few years back in my 91 dodge caravan

i was driving about 75-80 on the highway in the leftmost of 2 lanes. some guy in an audi station wagon flys by me on the right going much faster than i was. i didnt even have time to really realize someone was coming up on me going faster than i was (i was going faster than everybody else up to that point)

then about a 2 miles up the road, he is in the left lane going 65... so, i pass him on the right going the exact same speed i was going. he passes me again on the right a minute or so later and slows down.

so i pass him and pull alongside a slow-ass truck. he climbs up my ass dangerously close and flashes his high beams. i slammed on my brakes... much harder than i should have actually.

after about 20 seconds of sitting next to the slow truck i pull ahead and let him pass... on the right.

 

I would advise you invest in a nice bottle of ketchup and keep it within arm's reach. The next time someone starts tailgating you. You just flip the cap and fire away. The poor bastard's gonna wish he had some fries to eat with that ketchup all over his hood and windshield. Then, you drive away saying something catchy like the McDonalds slogan "I'm lovin' it." Or you could get next to him, roll down your window and say something like
"I didn't know __________ (Insert Car Name) came with ketchup as an option."


P.S. Or you can get a dozen eggs and toss that sh*t at them like grenades. Eggs are bitch to clean up after they touch the paint. But the best thing to do is no matter how pissed off you are, just look at them, smile and wave your hand. That really pisses them off.

 

wow i feel bad for ya just 5 min ago i wanted to kill my self ... when i got myc ar a week ago i told my father i wanna clean out the garage ..so we do there is the green fertilizer for the grass that i told him i dont want hangin there he said no i use it ...and a heavy bag that he tied up that is aid i want down when my car is in .. he said no its fine.. i get home from work and pull in as i throw it in park i hear a snap so i look on the inside of the car as i look down i hear screech.... i look up and sure enough i see the fuckin heavy bag and green fertilizer on my car.... the rope snapped as the bag swung down it grabbed the green fertilizer and grabbed the paint ofthe front of my car ... u dotn undertsand how pissed i was just becasue this didint happen 30 secons before i pulled in or the fact that i culdhave fuckin moved it before i got my car ... im so mad its pretty deep and its about 2 inches across.. u think touch up will fill it in???SORRY bout the boring story just had to vent cuz i had the car for a week i cleaned n dusted it almost everyday and this stupid shyt keeps happening ... fuckin worst luck..

 

to hell with food products. if you were going 80, open up the moonroof and start tossing out quarters. see what happens when that hits his winshield at 80.

That said, I think I have the answer that everyone was asking or hoping to learn.....
The A--hole had just used the screwdriver to break the steering column and steal the Lexus. He was wearing gloves so there won't be any fingerprints. He got mad at you because he was late for a first date with a Woman who finally wasn't related to him. This was the reason he stole the Lexus. He wanted to impress the woman. He tried but quickly realized he couldn't steal the car of his choice....A TL. Having to settle for second best his ego couldn't handle following behind your TL. So he threw the first thing he could grab. Hope this has helped to clear things up!
