when it comes to tailgates and or somebody tailgating on me this is what happen. i installed a seperate switch under the steering wheels just simple switch w/c has ON and OFF. this switch are connected to all brakes lights left and right plus, third brake lights. if im cruising 65 mph to 75 to 80 MPH or more. i know somebody, somebody wants to try to fck my ass. here is my trick or treat...
if someone tailgating on me i will step the gas as a little more pass like 80 to 85 or more... if he's still behind me this is what happen at 85 MPH! i will turn my taggle switch to ON and all my brakes will lights up! this driver thinking holy shit!! step on a brake on a middle lane at 85 MPH. this driver thinking i really step on brake but! im not... my foot still on a gas pedal. im just turning the switch ON and OFF and my brakes lights are the same ON and OFF. now, im doing this only to an aggressive driver tailgater.

Eggroll....

Reason enough to always roll in your TL strapped. A-holes like that deserve nothing short of two to the back of the head.

You have to realize the world is full of a-holes (even some I see in this thread). I have found out that and now stay far away from them. 2 times I had someone come up in traffic and pass me in the breakdown lane. I got angry and just flashed my lights. Nothing more...really no words or fingers ( my wife and kids in the car). So both times they ahole gets in front of me an locks them up. We are doing 70MPH and blue smoke is all over the place. If I hit the brakes too hard, the people behind me will hit me. YIKES. Then the want me to pull over and duke it out. What did I do...Flash my head lights. I think the best thing to do is stear far from these dudes and let them go. My family life is more important than that guys weak man hood.

Wonderful advice. It's people like you, Eggroll and everyone else should stay away from.

I have been very mad at people before also. I have even thought I would like a gun just for protection (which I still do), but if you carry it in your car you are just asking for trouble. I know that if I had one in my car I would be WAY too tempted to pull it out at the first sight of assholeness. That can also get you in very serious trouble like felony menacing, assault with a deadly weapon, etc. The other driver simply has to say "he had a gun and pointed it at me" and off to the county you go. I get mad too, but it's not worth the hassle. Come to think of it, it's not worth anything. Why let someone else ruin your day? I know that you can't do anything about the screwy driver with the screwdriver, but next time just let him go. Thank yourself down the road when you have less chance of heart problems due to stress.

P.S - I got my car back from the wreck today! Feels so good compared to that damn 4 cylinder Olds Alero... my withdrawls are over

I met someone like that before in Michigan...

I used to owe a Honda Prelude (4th gen), and this guy would tailgate/high-beam me on highway. I called the police and have them deal with him...of course I don't think the police ever got him but at least it made me happy

These people are not worth fighting with, they must be jealous of our TL - powerful car yet nicely designed. Don't mind them

Happy TL'ing.

It's etiquette of posting online...

Right, MyTizzeL should clarify which post he's pointing to.

He's obviously talking about the original poster and I tend to agree with him. He could have just let the guy go but instead he goes after him at over 100mph. Both parties were in the wrong.

The more I read this thread, the more it scares me. Maybe it is because I have a 16 year old son that will be driving soon. I already told him he would not be able to drive the TL since it has way too much power for a young driver. Eggroll is 16 years old. I just think a 270 HP rocket is too much for the amount of experiance he has which this shows. Maybe I am wrong and just worried about what my son would do with this car. That is what happens to us over 40 guys with young kids...we worry.

I wish they had a valet mode where the Drive by Wire would limit the HP with the Valet key. That way the kid can take it out with only half the power.

The A--hole had just used the screwdriver to break the steering column and steal the Lexus. He was wearing gloves so there won't be any fingerprints. He got mad at you because he was late for a first date with a Woman who finally wasn't related to him. This was the reason he stole the Lexus. He wanted to impress the woman. He tried but quickly realized he couldn't steal the car of his choice....A TL. Having to settle for second best his ego couldn't handle following behind your TL. So he threw the first thing he could grab. Hope this has helped to clear things up!

Oh it's safe, it's FWD

Concerning kids, if you raised him/her right there is a better chance they will be okay. But we all were young and did silly shit.
I do think the media just SHINES the light on all the bad kids getting in accidents and speeding etc. They are the minority.

Now if this eggroll boy is 16 years old first off get the hell out the fast lane, you don't belong there and because you LACK experience, you brain cannot figure out that closing headlights in your rearview mirror means a car is Coming.
And since you lack experience, you cannot figure out HOW FAST it is approaching.

Pics of the marks the screwdriver made please

I understand where your coming from. The TL does have a lot of power but I would not say it has too much power. a TL is nothing compared to a lot of muscle cars and souped up hondas and import cars at my school. I do drive responsibly most of the time and I honestly think that 270HP is just the right amount for a car. The TL's power has gotten me out of A LOT of tight situations. If your merging lanes unto a highway, perfect control of speed. If your turning left at onto a busy 2 way street, sometimes you have to gun it to make that tiny spot. Changing lanes at an intersection, the TL lets U get an early start. I dont think its a matter of how much power, its just a matter of how you use it. I mean, ANY car can be fast. HP is just how long it takes you to get there. HP is like a sharp knife, if you use if correctly you get great cuts of food. If you abuse it or dont contol it, someone is bound to get cut or stabbed. Thats my opinion. But gl to your son and hope he gets the TL one day

I knew he was coming up but I didnt want to get pulled over by the cop that was infront of me. I know cops are good people and they are there for a reason but not Edmond cops. The crime rate here is really low and cops are really over employed. They just hide by streets giving people speeding tickets when they should be fighting real crime in like Oklahoma city or something. For example on my way to work, a 3 mile drive, I saw 4 police cruisers or stationary motorcyle cops at diffrent locations. 4 cops within 3 miles?! thats ridiculous, and yea I know theyre just doing their job etc, but i honestly think there are way too many of them here.

Maybe he was drunk. Maybe he was on drugs. Maybe he just caught his wife in bed with the pool boy and you looked sorta like the pool boy. Who knows? Everyone comes unglued sometimes and it isn't a pretty thing. You're lucky he didn't do something really stupid that got you or someone else killed. Just let guys like that go. Confronting him was a no-win situation.

Is there any chance Eggroll that prior to the radar going off and subsequent slowdown, that you might have unintentionally aggravated the LS430 driver? Admittedly you were speeding and perhaps changing lanes in front of other cars. I say this, because I unintentionally, or perhaps intentionally, cut someone off two months ago and the driver's response was the same except without the screwdriver. I am sure he speed up seeing me preparing to pass him and did not like it when I called his bluff. I normally do not repeatedly change lanes to get around slower drivers but my wife made me late for a concert and I hate to be late. Not that this is an excuse to drive recklessly, but I realize this was not right and it will be a long time before I swerve in-and-out of traffic again. Although this guy speed-broke in front of me, I initiated the probelm. This is what separates the adults from the young adults. Most teenagers have yet to "really" learn that they are responsible for their actions and that their actions may impact other people.

p.s. I still like the Lexus thief conspiracy theory.

noo i dont think I did that. although I honestly dont remember. However I was on broadway extension for no longer than 2 min when the jerk came behind me. I was in the same lane the whole time. And there werent any cars on the highway. Maybe 5at the most within my view. It was pretty late and Oklahoma doesnt have very many people, so I dont think I did that.

Keep Right Except to Pass

You realize, don't you, that if you hadn't been driving in the passing lane for no reason, none of this would have happened?

Too many people drive in the passing lane, even when the lane(s) to their right are wide open. It's as if they think it is "cool" to drive in the left lane, and "lame" to drive in the right.

Use the road properly and you'll have a lot less trouble.

haha....i was posting a response to the original post. didnt read in between sorry i didnt clarify. it's extremely entertaining to here "give your keys back to your parents" when you are obviously jealous at age 50 to finally own a car better then a civic. did i spend the 37+ on my tl? no. did i have the money? yes. im 20 by the way. ive been all over the US and seen all the drivers i need to see. if someone is riding your ass yelling things at you passes you dont catch up like a retard thinkin you need to prove something. enjoy your car...and enjoy your car out of the body shop.

What the fuck? If that happened to me I would be all over him. Pull over and inspect the damages? Fuck that. I would chase him and call the cops and let them know so that they'd be there if he tried to pull a gun or somethimg. Some people are nuts. I would never just pull over and inspect the damage though. Do that shit later.

Here's what I'd say if I were your dad (I'm 40 by the way) What were you thinking when you decided to chase the guy? That was very stupid. Yes, he's an asshole, but you need to grow up young fella.
