WOW! We now have 2 TLs
Some of you may have read a few of my posts where I told of the problems we've had with my wife's '96 BMW 328i. Well, today we solved the problem. We bought here a 2005 TL!! She is in car heaven.. as in WOW!!
It's a Satin Silver with Nav and an automatic transmission. She originally wanted to get the ebony interior, but when looking and comparing several SSM's with ebony and with the quartz, she went with the quartz. Great choice.. it looks dynamite. I really like the subtle mix of the quartz and the charcoal in the interior. Really nice and classy.
So now we have mine, an '04 Anthracite/Ebony/6MT/Nav and hers, an '05 Satin Silver/Quartz/5AT/NAV. Man, what fun!!
Oh, the seats in the '05s are much better than those in the '04s. I strongly suspect no more butt prints.

A man who can make a decision and know when his goose is cooked (and by whom).
Congratulations, that was the ultimate vote of confidence in the TL.

Awesome! We have a couple members that have 2 3rd Gens in the stable. Nice to see you like the car so much! I would have a problem with 2 3rd Gens, I wouldn't know which to modify how!

I read your thread from a few days ago, SouthernBoy. You sure are whipped! (It takes a whipped married man to know another.....)
Seriously, congrats on the second new purchase. You now have the pleasure of choosing whether to drive 6MT and 5AT every morning.

I have 2, but a 2nd gen Type S and 3rd gen. The value of the TL is hard to beat. Best car for the money, so why not get 2.

No, I'm not P-whipped.
I know.. y'all are just funnin' me. What happened is her, now former BMW, was seeing the shop more and more and to the tune of serious money. Last Sunday morning was the final straw on her way to church. Engine over heated which turned out to be a failed water pump. BMW, in their infinite wisdom, chose to use plastic blades on the pump impeller. They destructed and the engine coolant didn't like it.
Anyway, she asked me to let her drive my car on some back roads for a few miles to see what it was like (remember, I have a manual). Almost immediately, she got the biggest smile and kept saying how fantastic my car was. Her new TL is not only quite beautiful, but is tight and rattle free and just super. I'm glad she has a car that is dependable and fun and so classy to boot. The lady is really in car heaven.

Congrats Southernboy....There's nothing wrong with having 2 TL's in the family. It's a great car, not just for the amount spent, but for it's excellent cruising capabilities as well. I love shifting thru the gears.....what a joy!!!

Good for you. You will love the Quartz interior. It hides dirt really well. It's a nice two tone interior in my opinion. Now you guys don't have to fight over who drives the TL!

Congrats!
The only guy I admire more than one driving a TL is a guy that has TWO!
Now they may both be 3rd Gen TLs, but with the tranny difference and just subtle changes from 04 to 05 you KNOW you will constantly be comparing the two....and what FUN that is!

Anyway, Southernboy, you did a good thing. Why NOT get two TLs when you already know what the best car is out there for the money right now? Anyway, looks like your wife knows too now. Enjoy!

Different generations, different cars.
Nice cars though.

At the time I bought our '01 3.2 TL w/Navi, I thought it was just the best thing since sliced bread. Now with my 1 month old '05 TL I've found Acura just keeps getting better and better.

Great choice for the extra TL in the stable SB, I just got my first, but could see paying this one off in a few years and getting a 4th Gen... Or an RL...
