Windsheild washer fluid reservoir capacity

Just a quick question.

Does anyone know what the capacity is for our windshield washer fluid reservoirs?

I just got some 303 washer fluid tablets and it says 1 tablet for a gallon of water or just throw it in the reservoir.

I figure it would be easier to fill up the reservoir with a garden hose and just throw a tablet in.

Thanks!

Why is the canadian version almost double the size?

2.6 quart [US, liquid] = 0.65 gallon [US, liquid]

4.8 quart [US, liquid] = 1.2 gallon [US, liquid]

That is strange that ours is so much smaller.

If anything, I would think the Canadian one would be a bit smaller since they have to make room for a sensor.

I want a bigger reservoir so that I don't have to fill up quite so often.

My best guess is that Canadians regulate the Winshield reservoir fluid issue very seriously...

I think it has to be mandatory in Canada for the odometer to show the low fluid warning...i dont see any other reason why they would have a sensor and the US wouldnt.

on the same note they might be regulating the size of the reservoir to... my best guess is lots of snow...and hence salt therefore lot of dirty windshields...

I have an '05 in the U. S. and I can get almost a full gallon in the reservoir, easily over 4/5 of a gallon.

Maybe in Canada they have alot more snow than us so the need to use the windshield wipers is more. In the audi's the canadians even have windshield wiper fluid warmers.

You are right about the snow salt and sand all over the roads. On occasion I have run out of washer fluid on the highway so you need to pull in behind a transport truck that is kicking up spray so that your windshield can get wet so your wipers work. Otherwise you have a dirty smear all over the glass. Another nice feature is headlight washers for the same reason.

Bigger the better on the washer reservoir - to hell with the weight.
