Windows control unit bad?

I have a 2008 TL Type S and...
I replaced a passenger window motor and regulator after having weird issues with the window stopping and seemingly slow. I had already tried resetting the head unit for auto up/down. However now I can't get the thing reset and trying the manual method with key on and off holding buttons... It will sometimes stay up unless I hold down and just no auto up/down. Everything for the driver side works. I've not reset that side in fear of making it not work.

Is there any good way to test or check the expensive window control/ head unit on the driver door? Is it possible it's bad or I got the wrong door motor and regulator?

Please help.

did you clean the glass channels? If it needs lubrication the motor could be kicking it back for the anti-pinch feature so you don't cut off fingers.
