Window Visors for Looks vs Function?

For those who have window visors... who got them for function meaning you love cracking down your windows when it rains, or is it for the look?

What is your impression when you see some car with window visors. To me it looks like it adds +5hp.

I am thinking of getting it, but it hardly rains here.

def helps the windows from not fogging when raining...but the real function is so that way you can smoke in the car when it rains and let the somoke out!!

I love them even when it's not raining. They deflect wind on the highway even if your windows are fully down, there's very little wind noise

I dont have them and never will. I personally do not like the way they look. Especially the roof one. Jut pointless. Supposidly it seduces wind noise from the sunroof, but i never have any problem with wind noise. I also discovered that the little deflector in the front of the sunroof actually causes more wind to enter the car itself. I would hold it down and no wind would enter through the sunroof, then i would release it and i would start having a little wind enter the car. But like i said i have no issue with wind noise.

Not a fan, but they sound like they're functional.

I like them, for the looks mostly. And to crack my windows in the summer heat

I honestly don't think it makes a big difference in looks. I'd never buy window visors for looks. It seems more of a mod you'd do for function rather than looks.

I think if you're buying for function, they're a great buy. They deflect wind on the highway and prevent fogging during the rain, as it's been said. Only visor I'd never buy is a sunroof visor, because IMO it sticks out way too much and a lot of them intrude too much on the opening.

Basically: Window visors are more functional than cosmetic, sunroof visor's cosmetic deficit outweighs its function. My

I like the way they look on our TL and the newer civics. I'm going to be buying OEM for both looks and function.

I don't like them either. They feel like someone a grandma would have on her car.

i think the OEM visors are hot, especially on wdp or nbp. i dont "need" them but i have them, so i guess you could say i bought them for looks. non-oem on any car look horrible. every cheap ford ranger or chevy s10 has one and the sunroof visor is another story, those never look good.

I would never buy the sunroof visor, it's so incredibly big and ugly. On the other hand, the window visors IMO look great. Especially if you have a rear window lip spoiler, the visors kinda lead into the wing and i think its pure sex.

i personally don't like the way they look. yeah i understand the purpose of them, but to me it just looks like something that shouldn't be on the car. a couple pieces of plastic just slapped on the outside of my windows? no thanks.

so window visors for looks VS function?

a. looks X
b. function X
c. waste of money _/

i don't have them but i'm trying to find a excuse to buying then since it seems to look good.

Here is the problem. If you notice 99% of all the new car have a clean look and does not have the visors. I only see old honda civics, accord, camry etc with them. The body style of the tl still look new which people ask me what year is my car because they think is a 2010 or close without knowing is a 2004. So having the visor my car would make it look good but it will also make it look cheap and inexpensive in my opinion. i use to have a honda accord 1994 a while ago and had them on, but now i really think that while they look good, they also look old school rice in our new body style vehicles.

My personal opinion is that if you have a dark colored car w/ tinted windows, it looks great, if not don't do it. I have had them for a few years now and they have proven many times over how useful they are. I can have a convo in the car with them where as before I could not. Plus with the kids in the back, I couldn't have my sunroof open without blowing them away but the roof one, (I don't like the way it looks, but keep it for the kids) has allowed me to open it and not allow any wind to hit them. They work great!

Oh and as far as looks. I have had MANY and I repeat MANY people that don't own TL's say how much it compliments the car and how it makes it look a lot better. So... I'm keepin on rockin them!

Some cars it doesn't look bad, but I just don't feel 'em on the TL. IMO it messes with the window line at the top and/or the back where the visor ends. Whatever floats your boat, though.

OEM visors all the way and only OEM visors; they extend all the way to the ends of the pillars and cover the two pillars between the driver and passenger doors. Aftermarket visors cover ONLY the window which looks like absolute shit, not to mention OEM visors get smaller as you proceed towards the front and towards the back of the windows.

I smoke, so it enables me to ash outside and allow the smoke to exit the car.

I think they look great, but it is probably different for NBP.

So both

I love the look and function of them. It make the car look wider from the front IMO. I only bought them because i got a good deal and i heard they cut down on wind noise- which they do.

I personally am not a fan of these at all.....on any car. But to each their own I guess.
I don't smoke or drive with my windows down that much so don't see the need for them.
