Anyone know of a good tinter in the Phoenix AZ area and has had their TL done? Let me know your experience and cost. Thanks.

 

I can only recommend you DON'T use Acura North Scottsdale. They use Danny's Family Car Wash company and do a horrible job. Won't use mole skin, do the quarter windows correctly etc. Plus Danny's damaged my car, added two bad scratched (down to the paint) and broke the third break light clips. Tried to pass it off without telling anyone. Luckily the service advisor actually cares and caught the scratches and had them fixed in the body shop.

My tint is scratched (from lack of moleskin) and I refuse to let them replace...even with the lifetime warranty that is offered. I'll be curious to find out who you end up using and how good the job is. I might pay the have them redone correctly.

 

I bought mine at Acura North Scottsdale and paid them to tint before I took the car home last Nov.

Mine still looks great (19,000 miles) and I honestly don't have any complaints. No scratches etc.

One exception: they would not tint as dark as I would have liked and I know that an aftermarket company would do it.

Just my two cents.

 

i had Acura of Tempe do mine for me. that is where i bought the car. they have a company that does it for them. looks great.

 

Where were you guys when I posted anyone from AZ, I got one post from Sierra Vista. I wanted to get a group together to see what they have done to their TL's. I am currently getting my RJ Kit painted, couple of more weeks and I will have it done.

North Scottsdale does use Danny's Family car wash. I found that out while i was waiting on delivery and made an extra effort and inspected it. My tint came out really good no complaints. With that said, i have 40k miles and i do have scratches. North Scottsdale offered to redo it once for free and said that they switched materials and havn't seen scratches on their 05's yet. They wouldn't go darker so I passed. I will be putting 20% on the fronts to match the rear once the RJ project is finished.
So basically I can't recommend anyone but there are shady places out there that come and go. Danny's is a respected business and should be around for a while if warranty work is needed.

 

Sorry man I must have missed your post in the past. Danny's actually isn't as respected as one might think. In fact everyone I've spoken to at the North Scottsdale dealership does nothing but bad mouth their work and are surprised their contract with them has continued (no joke). They even have a unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau. I've been screwed twice by Danny's...once with them damaging a rim on my BMW at the Highland location (which they would never fix) and the tint experience with my Acura.

Anyway to get to the point on the 05 tint....that's what I have, since March of this year. Without the mole skin protectant I don't think it matters what tint is used, all will scratch (so I've been told).

 

I have an Anthracite TL and had the job done by Lenny Beckman the TINT WIZARD in the Scottsdale Airpark... the tint job was top notch and Lenny is a cool guy!
I got the best film available from 3M... $300.00, but well worth it.

I drove down to tucson and had the Specialists do my tint. Was a nice day trip and they did an excellent job! No mole skin, but they do have %100 moneyback guarantee on scratches.
