what's your favorite aspect of the 3g tl?
thought it'd be cool to see what everyone's favorite thing is about the 3g tl...whether it be a type-s or not...name your favorite thing about this car. just ONE thing each.
i'll go with the quad exhaust on the type-s...car just looks SO good from the back view.

I can understand FWD on a base model, but for the type-s?!? really? not even for the M/T type-s?!?! really? I don't even think they considered RWD as an option for the type-s. soooooo ghey. And also, why did they stop at 285hp? why not just go the distance? type-s should have came with 300hp. I mean 285?!? sooo ghey. other then a non 300hp RWD TL, they executed everything perfectly. I honestly can't think of anything else that went wrong, the TL pretty much comes fully loaded, the only options you have is non-navi/Navi, M/T, A/T, base/type-s. so 6 choices, where as BMW has 300 packages, each one slowing sucking the soul from your body when you think it should come standerd for such a price tag at base.

^ Because the platform for the TL (and TL-S) is the FWD Honda Accord....economy of scale. To design a RWD car from a FWD platform wouldn't make sense...and I would not want to pump more than 285 HP through the front wheels, I don't care how good Honda thinks their LSD is...hammer this thing out of a corner in 2nd and the car steers like it has a mind of its own.
Sorry for going off the rails OP...otherwise I think the 3G is a pretty fine car. If it was RWD, the TL-S would be damned near perfect for me!

I think my favorite thing about 04-06 TL's is that 6-speed is a no-cost option.
For 07-08, you had to spend a couple grand more for the Type S to get the 6-speed.
The situation is worse for the 4G TL. Need to spend about $5000 more for the AWD model to get the manual.

new owner here.. and so far.. everything.. The shape and styling is executed nicely.. and the paddle shifters do it for me as well.. specially having a TT SC300 manual.. The auto thing through me off until I noticed the paddle shifters.. It isn't the same as a clutch, but the option of stretching out the gears works for me..
And coming from a 3.5 4th gen maxima, the TQ Steer I didn't miss... lol

I like how everything is nicely integrated. Blue Tooth, navi, sound system. e.g. muting my music when I receive an incoming call.
I'm waiting for the day when mp3 devices are all audio bluetooth and I can play songs from my car directly off my mp3.

I love the looks both inside and out.
Hate the FWD.

It has a classy-sleek look, yet aggressive as well. The way the lights are done are just flawless. the headlights are long and narrow and contour around to the side of the car leading off to the sidemarkers. The Tails are awesome too with many different ways to mod them.
Can't stand the FWD tho. I might get flamed for this, but a little slow for a V6 as well. My old maxima and v6 camry were faster at stock, but the TL is by far the best car I've owned.

RWD only is never going to happen for reasons mentioned above (shared chassis). Honda is just not a RWD company, and I think they'll make all of their cars AWD long before they make a pure RWD daily-(luxury)-driver. Plus, I would argue that their SH-AWD is better than most RWD setups.
S2000 of course being the exception... but that was a car for a very specialized market, and Honda made very little profit selling them, thus their discontinuation. Though I'm sure the next in the S-line will most likely be RWD as well.
But as for my favorite thing about the TL-S, it's got to be the aggressive luxury-sport look and feel.

^ Apparently you can't read b/c this is a thread about what you like about the TL and not what you hate or dislike. There are some things I dislike myself but this was not the place to say that!
I really like the design and color of the gauge illumination in the TL! I like the mixture of White and Blue. I dislike that Acura went boring on it after 2009 on the 4G TL to just plain boring white!

Keep Right Except to Pass
I'm coming up on six years with my '04 TL (6MT with Navi) and it's hard for me to pick the one thing I like the best, but I think I'll cast my vote for the car's performance in long-distance highway drives, both in terms of the car being comfortable and enjoyable to drive long distances as well as the car's performance in terms of stability at high speeds and fuel economy when you can leave it in 6th gear for long periods.
What do I dislike? I think the thing I find most annoying is that the km/h scale on the speedometer is basically useless, too damn small and hard to read. While I know what all the speed conversions are, I think the numbers ought to be clearer for people who aren't familiar with them. (On the same theme, I think it's weird that the MID cannot be switched to kilometres and degrees Celsius at the push of a button. I've driven other cars with digital odometers and they usually allow this. Seems to me to make a lot of sense for when you switch your Navi to metric when you cross the border so that when the Navi says to turn left in 500 m your odometer will match instead of making you estimate the conversion.)
I used the "search" function to find some of my longer posts from past years where I had commented on likes and dislikes after taking vacations in the TL and I found that my thoughts have remained pretty constant over the years:
Post from January 2006 after a ski trip to Mont-Tremblant
Post from August 2008 after a trip to Nova Scotia
