Now I'm only using my AMEX Plumcard for my every day charges, and I heard they don't report to the credit agencies since it is a charge card, is it true?

I wonder how it'll affect my credit score if I don't use any of my conventional revolving credit cards anymore.

I'm still waiting for the 09 TL to make my decision whether I should take the plunge.

It feels good to buy a car with one's own money, I've always relied on my parents for all of my purchases in college. =(
734 is very good, or close to excellent. Anything over 720 is generally considered A+ credit, so 734 will get you the best rates available, although some mortgage lenders are now offering a very slight reduction in rates to borrowers with scores over 750 or 760. We're talking around a tenth of a percentage point or so.

I'm 23 with 04 TL base, I am a Bilingual Receptionists, at the Philadelphia international airport, in PA making $28k a year. The TL had 49k miles on it and I got it in April 11 for $23k. Had $4K down and payments only $398 a month and insurance is $152. Its not too bad. First post and a new member to the site.

Retired Coast Guard pilot and currently a pilot for Fedex. '08 base with navi. Got rid of an '05 avalon for the TL. Definitely one of the better car moves I've ever done. "If you have to ask then you can't afford it." Commadore Vanderbilt on the cost of campaigning an America's Cup boat.

Pretty cool to see alot of people in the IT field have this car. Add me to the list. But I am not a pro. Just yet. I am getting my B.S. in IT, with DBA (database administration) as my Major. I am about to buy a 04 TL for 15k Cash, Its very attainable now, with my parents having the cash. I am not the kind that asks their parents to buy them a 30k car, which my parents offered me. But I dont want them making payments for 10 years, or however it takes to pay for it. They have 15k cash, now. Im sure to find a 04 TL for 15k cash.

34, Virtual Infrastructure Architect with my VCP, and about 10+ years in MS engineering, networking, datacenter design, etc, I make 103k a year, put 5k down on my 06 TL (pre-cert with 100k extended warranty), got $509 payments for 6 years. I'm single, 1 daughter, mortgage, home insurance, car insurance, and the usual utility bills (cable, internet, etc. etc.)

I'm also a music producer/engineer/sound-designer on the side, doing it for 20+ years now, so that brings in extra income from time to time...

good luck dude, 60k with a director position at age 23 is a damn good start.

cheers

oh and yea, looks like the TL is a fav for IT guys. For a long time it seemed like it was always the Audi A4, but man i've heard horror stories about long-term maintenance on those vehicles. I've had 2 close friends now sell both their A4's after sucking their wallets dry with maintenance costs on fixing stuff that was just breaking left and right. It seems the trend is those cars last great till the warranty expires, and then all hell breaks loose.

One more reason I felt great about going with the TL. Honda workmanship and longetivity simply can't be beat...

cheers.

I'm 27, working in IT as a lot of others on the forum and making $104k. I payed for my 08 typeS 6mt cash after trading in my 01 CL typeS. House payments are going well, planning to pay it off in the next 5yrs, maybe 2 if my wife and I really push.

as far as IT people liking the TL, I think there's a few factors, #1, odds of an IT guy landing on a forum are pretty high, next the TL offers so many techy gadgets for the price. I was considering a BMW 335i, which i really love, but I couldn't see myself spending an extra $10k. Also, I personally don't find the insurance costs of the TL that high.
