Well I almost got her back today
Most of you know about the problem's I have been having with the rattles etc. (from my other posts).
Well there was reason for optimism today when Acura called to tell me all was fixed, and to come and get her.
This being the third time they had my car in two months of owning it, I was crossing my fingers everything would be fixed this time.
So I drove the RSX loaner that I have had for a week back to the dealer, and proceeded to go on a test drive with one of the techs who had worked on my car. On the test drive I was very happy in that the rattle's (side doors, center console, and rear deck) seemed to have all been fixed (knock on wood). Memory part is on back order.
On our way back to the dealer (tech is driving), I notice the head liner around the back of the moon roof is sagging about 3 inches, and that the carbon fibber trim on my passenger door as 4 deep scratches (new) in it. I point them out to the tech, and he said yeah the sagging head liner is a common problem with the new TL :smackhead
So I was that close to getting my car back, and here I am with the RSX again, as the head liner is an over night fix. I don't know how much more of this I can take.

oh man that really bites. i was looking at my headliner today because i got paranoid after seeing 2 posts today about the problem. how bad is it sagging? is there suppose to be any space between the car and the headliner? cause mine doesn't hang down but you can slightly push it in. but most of the liner seems to feel the same.
I win most times in shop!!
Rattles in sunroof, instrument panel, drivers side seat belt retractor unit and memory seat doesn't work = six times in shop since December 2003! Fixed sunroof w/ new part (now header falls down constantly), instrument panel sprayed w/ foam insulation (we'll see), seat belt retractor unit still rattles after replacing and putting in foam. Picking up tomorrow, so we'll see how the memory unit works after they fixed. Service Manager said all four Acura TL's that he drove rattle in the seat belt retractor area. Does that mean I have to live with it?? NOT. Called General Manager and am meeting w/ Acura Rep on 4/8 so we'll see. Plus when I've picked up the car there have been empty foam cans laying in the back seat and some type of grease sprayed all over the leather in the back seat. Sort of wishing I'd not bought an Acura right now.

My headliner was sagging EXACTLy the same way. I didnt notice it tilll my coworker was sitting in the back. I took it in yesterday. I also made sure they had a look at the glove box cuz it was drooping to the left and hard to close. HOpefully all that will be fixed overnight. Good luck with your car. Oh and i have a 36XXX vin #. The tires are fine, the memory seats are fine. NO rattles yet with 180miles. Just the headliner and the glove. good luck with the car and God's speed.

Check your PM.
i have little cracks here and there from the headliner and get the rattles from the seatbelt adjusters but thats about it. so it would be ok to take it acura to have a look? it's really not too bad for me as everyone else is having it. my headliner doesnt droop at all i cant understand where it could droop.

I assume the sag is due to Acura's cheap ass way of securing the headliner and it has something to with adhesives? If so, does is stand to reason that warmer temps will cause this porblem to be more apparent?
I ask because here, temps have been mostly in the 40's and 50's so it's still relatively cool and I've not noticed any saggin the headliner. Maybe I'll be seeing the problem in a few weeks when temps start climbing into the 70's?
i doubt it's due to climate temp. like i said in my earlier post i am not having the problem at all. i live in palm springs area at the moment where temps have reached 102. my poor tl also has to sit in this heat because of the garage being occupied by my brothers band. i'll be back up north in a couple months though.

Won't worry about it for now, I guess. :toothless
