Weathertech Window Visors

2008- TL- Type S Weathertech Window Visors- I want to install these 4 (side window) visors and potentially moon roof visor. I have no experience with Weathertech. Has anyone installed these snap in visors? Quality Fit? More? Any other recommended brand?

There is a thread on those things somewhere on the first page or two of the main 3G board, FWIW.

I'd like to hear some feedback as well. I'm interested in getting the mood roof visor.

Weathertech = better protection, wider visor = Stands out like a sore thumb...

OEM = very dark, perfect slim design covering the entire side, looks uniform.

You'll get more function from Weathertech, but it will look nasty, of course my

I had a moon roof visor on my 00TL, once you put it on, there is no taking it off, ever... It's scratched the paint.

In 3G, you really don't need it, as the wind noise is already broken down by the lifting rubber piece.

I've got the weathertech's. I love them, 3rd car to have them. They're clear enough to see through, allows you to open the windows a little in the summer or rain. Great company, I was driving along last summer with the windows open and the rear passenger side popped out and broke. I called asked if I could buy just one, they sent me a rear pair for FREE, 2nd day FEDEX.

The fronts are a little tricky to install, wouldn't try it in the cold (depends where you live), you have to put the front in and flex the shade to pop in the rear, then the rest will slide in. It takes a couple of days for them to seat correctly. If you tried it in the cold they would snap.

I don't have them on my TL yet have the Weathertechs on my other vehicle. Very good design - fit and finish. No tape or drilling required. More expensive than some yet worth it.

Go OEM....the Weathertechs look like ass on the rear window IMO. Check it out before you buy. No offense to the weathertech owners at all...but I dont think they did an adequate job of tapering and fitting the rear window to look right...therefore they tend to look ok on the front window...but look like a JC Whitney add on for the rear window. The OEM ones taper off nicely on the rear window and look much sleeker IMO.

Please don't put these on your nice TL. This is almost as bad as those door guards that get put on from the dealer. There is no reason to attach something to your car with 3M tape.

I would have to agree. I've never seen a car whose appearance has been improved by adding the window visors or roof visors.

With those sweet taillights and the ugly weatherguards, I call it a wash. Did you white out the tails yourself?

Nice clean SSM. IMHO, it would look better without the window visors.
