WarrantyDirect- 3G TL Quote...

Out of curiosity, I headed over to WarrantyDirect's website for a quote on an 06 TL. I was told by others that these guys are the most financially stable of all 3rd party extended warranties.

These are the quotes they gave me for their "top-of-the-line" plan:

Warranty Extension to 7-yr or 100K,whichever comes first:

$1418 ($0 Deductable)
$1207 ($100 Deductable)

Here's their policy:

Better than Hondacare? Don't know. Would like to hear your thoughts.

At least I have a better choice of repair facilities...

Its not a 100k warranty first of all

You are paying for a 3/50 warranty and if its an 06 and additional 2/40k miles warranty on the powertrain.

You car warranty is a 4/50k warranty. I know honda parts and labor are high, but if a Honda is not capable of going 100k miles, w/o any serious problems I may need to look at something else.

I never said Hondas cannot go 100K w/o serious problems, but you never know anyway.

The TL is a very complex cars, as with many cars in this category. It isn't uncommon for some small items to have issues before 100K, but out of warranty, especially some minor electrical or fit/finish issues.

In addition, from my past experience, once beyond 5-yrs/60K, time can take its toll on some gaskets and seals. For example, I began experiencing some leakage problems from various components in other cars after about 6 years...not uncommon.

The Hondacare warranty you can buy from the dealer is not just an add-on of the factory warranty...its actually a full warranty (covers more things than the factory warranty). So its longer, and a more full warranty.
The example the finance manager told me (although he couldve been BSing) was if you run over a pothole and crack something in your car-the regular factory warranty would not cover this, but the extended full warranty would
Can anyone confirm that there is a difference b/w the content of the factory vs. extended warranty?

If you really feel you have to have an extended warranty on a Honda product you might try autowarrantybroker.com. I have had one of their warrantys on an SL500 for several years that I have really used!! Read the small print three times so you really know what you are getting.

Check the details

I had warrantdirect for a Maxima and they BSed me on a upgrade that Nissan made to the car on the emission system that failed, but they wouldn't cover it since they claimed that factory upgrades aren't covered.
