How do I go about...

So, long story short. I bought my 05 Desert Metallic TL about 1 month ago, more or less. We'll, about a week after I bought the car I had surgery and could not drive for 4 weeks. I was finally able to wash the car 2 weeks ago and guess what I noticed? Paint chips on the back and side of the car.

I just called my car salesman and he said nothing can be done after 30 days. I told him I had surgery, parked the car in the garage and did not notice until recently. I'm going to call the sales manager in about an hour, what are my possibilities that he'll hear me out??? Also, nothing was mentioned about if you notice any imperfections in the car, it has to be fixed within 30 days and I bought the car in the evening, there was no way to notice the defects.

Thanks,
Steph

Hey Chica,

Usually, once you drive the car (especially a used car) off the lot it's pretty hard to get the dealer to fix anything unless it's covered under the warranty or a defect. I think you may be at the mercy of the dealer. You would have to prove to them that it is covered. Maybe show them how many miles you have driven it since you bought. Maybe show proof you did not drive it for 4 weeks.

Good luck

Usually used cars are 'as is' and they will say that the chips and scratches were 'reflected in the car's selling price'
But hey-give it a shot, and make sure you say stuff like you are going to be their customer for the long haul and plan on getting ALL your servicing done from them..etc

I think there have been a few guys who have had their cars repainted because of the faulty acura paint. Acura is aware of the paint issue, just be diligent and you will most likely get your car repainted. Tell them the truth and try to cry a bit and bitch and moan about how you bout a 30K dollar car , never drove it and it now looks like crap. Also threaten to trade it in for a Camry or something since Toyota takes care of their customers..habla mierda u know..

Well, the used car sales manager has taken care of me. I'm taking my car tomorrow to have the touch ups done on my bumper.
Thanks everyone!

Steph don't roll like that...

Playing the girlie role (crying, flirting, etc.) ...I know that she's gotten some flirtatious comments on this forum (from me too). When she was shopping for phones, I told her about my Razr experience and commented about her good looks. She just focused on getting help selecting a phone.

It's all good Steph, no offense when I told you that you are fine . Believe me the day will come when you'll miss those compliments, your pic shows that you are still young. Mrs. GBockers certainly enjoys it when dudes "play the role".

Enough psycho-babble, congrats on getting the hook-up on the ride.

Thanks GBockers, I enjoy it mucho. Yeah, being 26 helps with a great and friendly personality :-) No, seriously, I am a woman and stuff, but its hard to get guys respect sometimes when I never outgrew the car phase going back 9 years. But, usually the guys or men can tell that I have a strong nature and know when to back off too, ha ha.
We'll, its been raining here in Austin, so I'm going to take the car by on Tuesday to have it touched up.

Except for one stupid ass coworker that said If I kissed my husbands ass to get my car, I was like, uh, no! Its called, I was promoted in my job, and we can afford it now, stupid idiot! Sorry, had to flame.

TL Driver's Gender

I dunno about where y'all live but up here in Beantown I have yet to see a female rollin with a TL. But, we do have at least three cuties on the forum (xtin, ChicaTL and the college gal in VA somewhere (name escapes me.) Up here the BMW 3 Series seems to be the choice for the ladies; I know in Cali, Fla, and Tejas there must be ladies driving TL's.

Personally I want to thank ChicaTL and xtin for brightening up the forum . I work with a bunch for 40 something dudes and that get very old, very fast. LOL.

Hhhm...Hhhm <~~~~~~(clearing throat and getting up on soap box)...I just bought my desert mist TL and loves the color. I think overall you will see aging in the paint far less than any other color except white. Also, the no othere interior has a chance against the parchment when they start aging.

Well, I wasn't too crazy about the desert metallic color and kind of regret it, but it was a great deal and couldn't pass it up. Thinking now, I don't regret it at all, because here in Austin there are hardly ANY if ANY females that drives TL's. I mostly see men in their 30's and up driving TL's. Another big thing is that I have yet to see another desert metallic TL in Austin. Everyone and their mama has white, black (most popluar I've seen) and silver. That was the other thing if I wanted the silver color with black/silver interior, the dealership wanted an extra 2200, because of the popularity of the color. I was like hell no, and don't regret it because Texas heat is a bitch, seriously! Even with tinted windows and a shade window cover in the front, you'll still be burning your ass of when you go sit inside the car.

I have the light interior, and even then its hot, but do plan on getting tint.

I am a female TL driver in Austin. I drive an ABP. I see quite a few females in TLs, mostly older women when I do.

Same here, everyone has WDP, NBP, or AM (only a few silvers). ABP, RRP, and DGP show up every now and then. DMM is the rarest...I think I have seen 2 DMM's in 2 years...well, until last weekend when I saw DMM's within 5 minutes of each other...needless to say, I was rather shocked

Ouch....

xtin, why did you have to hurt us 40 somethings like that? I'm 12 days shy of the big 45, my baby is 06 5AT NAVI NBP w/ebony. Luckily, I look closer to 30 or so I'm told . It's aight, you couldn't identify me as a forty-something if you saw me.

I do see most dudes my age driving the TL's up here though; you and Chica have class however because the mid-20's ladies here drive like Civic's, VW Jettas, and such.

You have NBP...you are safe

The ONLY Bronze TL's I have seen here are driven by 60+ men

That's alright. I'm 47 and I don't let my age get in the way of my childish behavior

BTW ChicaTL, Did you ever decide on rims for your TL??

Hey Amic, I haven't seen any female TL drivers yet!

I live in Leander, but my job is off of Mopac & Parmer, so it is me you see more than likely

We should meet up sometime and have happy hour at sam's boat, ha ha

LOL...this thread is funny. Anyhow, not a lot of female TL drivers in Southern Cali. Probably more than anywhere else in the nation (due to our large ass population), but propotionally it's pretty low.

I have to agree with whoever posted this, but most girls seem to prefer the 3 series over a TL. I think BMW's are over-rated and these girls just buy it for the name brand. Girls who buy TL's = classy.

Actually (btw this is way off topic), I think girls look hottest in a Range Rover. I don't know what it is. It just kinda turns me on in a weird way. LOL. I think maybe it's because they have the potential to be a sugar momma??? hahaha....jk. Well, girls in TLs come in a close 2nd.

I don't know what it is, but cars do have the affect of making a person look better than they actually are.

Hmm, should I take a picture of me and my car, ha ha ha..... Just kidding. Then we can come in first place instead of the Ranger Rover sugar mamma's.

I never look hard enough to see if the driver of the DM if male or female. I'll try and look next time. We should get some Austin people together for a meet. I know the Dallas people get together all the time.

Hey X, I love being 40ish...with my TL-drivin ass. I smoke "kids" your age in my aerobics class. Looove to see the looks on their faces when they realize the class won't be as easy as they thought. Besides the ladies in my class love a man who can drive a TL and not look like it.

I don't know X. Besides being an Army officer I teach step aerobics. I love people (guys mostly) that underestimate my aerobics class. I usually tell them "eat bananas" after class because I know the cramps they will have later. I'll be leaving for Baghdad next Sunday so I will put a cover on my baby, park it in the garage till I get back.
