Unhappy Warranty

Why does Acura USA give a 4year Bumber to Bumber warranty vs, Acura Canada a 3 year Bumber to Bumber

USA 50,000 miles vs Canada 60,000 Kms

50,000 miles equals appox. 80,000 Kms

Some must know why?
Is Acura not the Luxury Division of Honda?

All these other Luxury Makes give a 4yr / 80,000 Km in Canada

Lexus
Audi
BMW
Cadillac
Infiniti
Lincoln
M-Benz
Volvo
Jag
Saab
Crap even VW

Maybe Acura is not in the same class in Canada

Acura USA Total Luxury Care (TLC) with roadside assistance - 4-year/50,000-mile

Acura Canada 3 year Roadside assistance

What the heck is going on here??

I asked the Sales Manager a Toronto area Acura Dealer why there is a difference?

He said QUOTE " The US buyng public are more demanding" ....
"anyway if they give 4 yrs in the US that must mean that Acura has confidence in the vehicle and probably nothing major would go wrong in the 4th year any way"

WHAT????
I demaning also... All you posters from Canada do you feel like we're getting ripped??

I got a 7 yr/100k extended warranty from Acura. Even after paying for that, my total cost was still either in line or lower than most of those brands you mentioned. Bang-for-the-buck I still came out ahead.

True but remember that in addition to the extra year warranty they get XM radio, fog lights and probably other things we don't know about. It probably evens out in the end as I am sure they go over the pricing with a fine tooth comb.

TLC (roadside assistance) is for four years here in Canada not three. Used to be just three a while back.

For only $1,100 or so you can upgrade to a 6 year 100k warranty that also includes roadside asistance (only owned U.S cars and Jaguar). This is much cheaper than any other extended warranty I have ever bought. I guess not much goes wrong with Acura's, I wish I could say the same for the rest.
