Vinyl roof interest thread.

I am working with a vinyl company and I can get glossy black vinyl which would be wide enough to do our roofs. I measured our room to be about 44" x a little more than 5 ft so if I got 5.5' x 4' wide at about $45 plus shipping would would be interested? It doesn't have to be precut because with precut vinyl it may be too much or too little and with this much vinyl it would be easy to install at once sheet and with the plastic black rails that pop off it can be cut fast or anything because the sides are hidden. I would need at least 5 people to commit.

Thickness
(without protective paper and adhesive) 2.5 mil
Temperature Resistance
adhered to aluminum, -40°F to +176°F no variation
Outdoor Durability
(based on vertical surface exposure) 6 years
Minimum application temperature
+46 °F

It is the most popular kind of vinyl and I believe its the same as bluebatmobile.

Just glossy, CF would be a whole lot more money.

They have a couple different brands, but oracle actually seems to be the most popular. What brand do you recommend? Everywhere I see its oracle and I have never had a problem with them. I use oracle for all of my projects either signs or vehicles.

i use 3m vinyl myself....oracale makes a good vinyl called orajet that is very similar to 3m's quality and also is a dry install just like 3m...the oracale stuff that goes on wet with soapy water is known to remove clear coat/paint after removal years later not to mention comes off in dime size pieces...as opposed to 3m which will come off in virtually one piece...

A roof with CF would be $275. 5.5ft x 5 ft which would be enough for roof, and since you will have about a foot x 5 ft left over it would be possible to CF some trims and such.

This is for a 6 year vinyl sheet. I am sure this would be a permanent fixture for any vehicle and over time any vinyl will be hard to remove. Every vinyl after years will fade but this is guaranteed not to until then, which is 6 years. So for $8 per year you can have a vinyl roof. I can get them for $45 and do 6ft x 4 ft and you will have enough to vinyl your front grille and some other things. I need at least 3 people to pay before I order enough for 10 people. Its $45 plus shipping, and shipping is going to be $7.

Whoa $275 for cf seems steep. It is significantly cheaper off of the carbonfiberfilm website

fwiw, first timer here myself, and i applied mine np. just heat up the vinyl with hair dryer, get it pliable, and take your time, heating, stretching, pressing as you go.

there are a lot of DIY vids on this as well, search them. all i'm sayin is that i had zero experience with this stuff and it turned out great in the end. just take your time. it's real hard to screw this up. plus, you get the self satisfaction of saying I DID THAT.

but if all else fails, good luck finding someone to help ya!

oh, and Ack, if you can get CF vinyl cheaper, i'm in. seems like that price is kinda high to me too

ok, back to our regularly scheduled program.

so min temp is -40F for this? what happens if it gets colder than that? Because here where I live, it can be -40F without windchill. So imagine what the temp would be when driving.

How do you even withstand that? haha.

Make sure you clean the car very well and possibly clay bar it to get it very clean. I will have a set of instructions out there and I have been researching all types of vinyl and this one seems to be the choice for car graphics. The distributor said that it depends on how long you plan on keeping it on there will tell you how easy it is to remove. You keep it on there for 10 years, its obviously going to crack and be a huge pain to remove. Once again this will be 6' x 4' which will be enough to even vinyl your front grill and so forth.

It does, but for some reason that website is high. I checked a couple more and I was about to get it for probably $170 plus shipping and it would be 6' times 4' which again will be more then enough to do the roof, front grill, rear license plate strip and most likely some interior trim pieces. But to get that deal I need to put up almost a grand or more, so I would need at least 5 people at that price to pay up front.

Well I got a really fast email and here is the sign up list. I need 5 people for the CF to pay so that I don't put up almost a grand and no one wants it. Price is $185 plus shipping for 6 feet x 4 feet (enough for roof/ grille/ and interior pieces. My pay pal is s0574049@monmouth.edu and I will wait until every has paid so mark down next to your name if you sent the money or not. Money will be needed to be sent as a gift under the personal tab. If I don't get at least 5 in a month or so, then I will refund all of your money. This is 3M, which is why its so expensive.

2.

Black vinyl is $45 plus shipping. This is also 6 x 4.

I want a black vinyl for sure but I am not sure I wanna do it now, it's almost winter. And to tell you the truth, -40F is very cold, but it can get colder. And TL is a freaking trooper in the snow and when it's that cold.

CF is 3m and is very expensive as its the best out there. I am selling a larger piece of the same vinyl that competitors sell for a little less, I wouldn't ruin my reputation on here to rip people as I never have and never will.

Keep in mind we had a few days of -50 last winter. On one night last winter, we broke records (I believe) since we were the second coldest place on the planet, only behind somewhere in Siberia. I'd be down for the CF 3M especially with the adjusted price but as myron said, winter is coming for us. Our winters go painfully long. We had two days of snow in May. A little ridiculous. I need to move to a warmer climate
