Vented hood

Is anyone running a vented hood CF or not? All this heat in Cali is making me think running a vented hood might be good idea especialy with the supercharger.

I know there was some pics of a WDP with a custom hood, believe it was vented. I'm interested in getting something custom done also. Maybe someone can do a photochop.

Yup, I believe it was OMPrelude's WDP. I don't know how to search it on the new site, though, sorry. It had something to do with Revscene, in Canada, IIRC.

Yep, he did the work himself and made custom vents and inverted scoops.

You could always dremel some vents if you trust yourself

^ hey that was my idea... to copy the s2k fellas... but sadly the pattern the TL has underneath isn't as nice as the s2k... but, it you'd end up with a nice triangle shaped

sort of like \||/

I'm thinking of eventually getting the BMW M3 ALMS hood after going supercharger.... but won't be for a long time.

In addition this is a purely aesthetic mod, you will not gain any performance....

But it's def. a cool idea for a more aggressive looking TL.

vents in the hood like the Thunder-hill TL would work great:

also it would be good to try to get the air to flow out too, so maybe cutting fender vents would work, also that would help reduce front end lift at higher speeds like the fx50..

if you know how to mold it on to your hood it won't crack even over lots of bumps or pot holes , just get a good body shop to do it and not a shitty body man

the thunder tl hood wasn't made... they just cut the 2 triangles and folded them down then added some little raised diffusers...

take the carpet off from underneath the hood and you will see the 2 triangles they cut half way... that is an oem hood on the th-tl

I think the thunder hill design is the way to go. The vent looks to be right where the blower is and any heat evacuation will be helpful.

The Honda R&D TL is going to be running two weekends from now at Mid Ohio in the NASA championship for Honda Challenge. I've been thinking about driving the 500 miles to go see it in action.
