does anyone know why is my valet key not starting my car?? Everything works as normal, dash light, doors, etc but when turning the key to start my car i wont light the engine..Does anyone know y???

Maybe theres some way to deactivate the valet key, but someone please let me know...thanks...

 

1) The Valet key is the Gray one...correct? The valet key does everything a Master key (black one) does, except open the glove compartment and trunk.

2) IF the gray one can open doors and doesn't turn on the engine. The "transponder" in the key isn't correctly programmed.

Bring the key back to the dealer and tell them it doesn't turn on the car and tell them to program/re-program your key

 

Yeah is the grey one. It's weird, because I did use it before and it worked perfectly but it didn't work yesterday.. Anyway I may have to stop by the dealer and tell them to check it out.. Thanks for the reply...

 

One more thing to add to this post.
Well today I realized that my second main key is not working too, so the only key that works right now is the one that I carry, but the other 2 don't.
My car was sitting at Sierra acura for around 2 weeks for some vandalism that some F.. idiot did to my car. Anyways, I called today to speak to acura and what he says is that they don't have anything to do with this and that if they have to reprogram it its going to cost $99 each, WTF!! They replaced the door trim, new passenger door glass and replaced the battery beacuse while they were working on my car the battery died.

So, Does anyone know what might have gone wrong here???

PD: one more thing, the new battery doesnt have the thing to check if the battery is still good or not. Is that ok? or should it have it too..

 

I took delivery of my new 05 TL this past December, I just realized that I only received one black and one gray key with 2 key fobs. Looking at the manual I think I should have gotten 2 black keys right? Hmm.

 

yeah, 2 main keys with the remote thing and 1 valet key (grey)

 

They acura, go to hell. Stuff like that is covered under warrenty.

The battery Acura sells don't have the "Window" to see if it's "green" or not...it's fine, I think they only come on newly built cars.

 

My grey key works, u should go to dealer get that fixed under warrenty.

 

Well I went to the dealer and yeah, they wanted to charge me for that until I came with the warranty and they said that they would do it complimentary with no charge... Damm, they want to charge you for anything...anyways, happy ending I guess..

They ended reprograming both the valet key and the second main key. I really wanted to know why this happened but they themselves couldn't tell.. Weird thing..
