For the New 04 TL there will be two different spoilers to choose from....a regular spoiler and a deck lid spoiler. I used to think i wanted the standard spoiler but now that i've seen both i think i'd opt for the deck lid spoiler because it's a bit more subtle. I still love the rest of the aero package (body kit) but i think the regular spoiler is a bit much...in my own opinion it makes it look somewhat ricey. What do you guys think?

 

IMO the lip on the trunk looks like it was something "superglued" on as an afterthought. I prefer the regular spoilers. However, I will reserve judgment until I see the car in person this Thursday.

 

Originally i thought the lip spoiler looked okay....i thought i'd like the regular spoiler more. But after taking a look at both (in pictures) i think i like the lip spoiler.

 

I've been wanting to see how the regular spoiler would look like, but so far I haven't seen any picture yet. I live in Canada so I'll have to wait until at least late October if no delay, in order to see the new TL in person.

The little lip on the trunk doesn't look too bad but I don't think I'll be getting that. So for me, it's either a regular spoiler or nothing at all.

Does anyone have a high-res scan of that picture? I really can't tell how the spoiler looks in this scan.

 

No offense to you 20-something's, but I think the full spoiler makes it look like a kid's car. I'd get the deck spoiler if it avoided this look (admittedly just my own perception) and if it actually contributed to lower drag (does it?). Otherwise I'll go without.

 

After seeing all these pictures of the TL with and without both the deck lip and the spoiler, I personally think that it looks its best without either one. The deck lip is redundant and the spoiler doesn't match very well with the rest of the car.

What do you think?

 

I think you definitely have to wait to see it in person to make a decision. I for one prefer a full spoiler to a decklid one, but that's just my opinion.
